Arshad Nadeem has once again demonstrated his dominance by qualifying for the men’s javelin final at the 2025 Asian Athletics Championships.

He qualified with an impressive 86.34-metre throw on his very first attempt.

Competing in Group A during the qualifiers in Gumi, South Korea, Nadeem immediately took the lead and confirmed his spot for the final.

The final is scheduled for May 31, 2025.

This competition is Arshad Nadeem’s first major international event since his historic performance at the 2024 Paris Olympics.

He made history by winning Pakistan’s first-ever Olympic gold medal in javelin, setting a new Olympic record with a massive 92.97-metre throw.

The achievement placed him among the world’s elite athletes and brought immense pride to Pakistan.

Joining Nadeem in the Asian Championships final is fellow Pakistani javelin thrower Yasir Sultan.

He qualified from Group B with a throw of 76.7 metres.

Both athletes are part of a compact five-member Pakistani athletics team competing in South Korea alongside more than 2,000 athletes representing 43 countries.

Nadeem recently shared his competition schedule on Instagram.

He requested prayers and well wishes from his supporters to help him reach the finals and continue his medal-winning streak.

He said: “My aim is to win and make Pakistan proud.”

In recognition of his extraordinary achievements, Nadeem was awarded the Best Asian Athlete Award by the Asian Athletics Association.

He is now focused on adding another gold medal to his already impressive collection.

This includes victories at the Olympics, Commonwealth Games, and regional events.

His recent qualifying throw is a clear indication that he remains one of Asia’s top javelin throwers and a strong contender for the gold.

The Pakistan Athletics Federation has expressed confidence in their athletes, emphasising their determination not only to compete but to win.

Following the Asian Championships, Arshad Nadeem will head to England to prepare for the World Athletics Championships scheduled in September 2025.
