Anushka Sharma and Virat Kohli have revealed the name of their newborn daughter with a heartwarming picture on Instagram.
On February 1, 2021, the Bollywood actress took to Instagram and revealed that the child’s name is Vamika.
The picture showed Anuskha smiling and holding her daughter while Virat gazes at his child. Meanwhile, balloons take up the background.
Anuskha wrote: “We have lived together with love, presence and gratitude as a way of life but this little one, Vamika has taken it to a whole new level!
“Tears, laughter, worry, bliss – emotions that have been experienced in a span of minutes sometimes!
“Sleep is elusive but our hearts are SO full.
“Thanking you all for your wishes, prayers and good energy.”
Virat reacted to the post, writing: “My whole life in one frame.”
India all-rounder Hardik Pandya also reacted to the picture with a heart emoji.
The couple had announced they were going to be parents in August 2020.
In December 2020, Virat had been with the national cricket team but was granted paternity leave to be there for his wife’s birth.
Anushka Sharma gave birth on January 11, 2021, and her husband shared the happy news.
He had thanked everyone for their heartfelt messages but requested his followers to respect their privacy.
Virat had written: “We are thrilled to share with you that we have been blessed with a baby girl this afternoon.
“We thank you all for your love, prayers and good wishes.
“Anushka and the baby are both healthy and we are feeling beyond blessed to start this new chapter of our lives.”
“We hope that you can respect our privacy at this time.”
The couple had also made the request to paparazzi in Mumbai. The message read:
“Hi, thank you for all the love that you have given us all these years.
“We are happy to celebrate this momentous occasion with you. As parents, we have a simple request to make to you.
“We want to protect the privacy of our child and we need your help and support.”
Shortly after the birth, the couple tightened restrictions at the hospital to ensure their privacy.
Virat Kohli has now returned to the Indian squad and is currently in Chennai.
He prepares to lead India in the four-Test series against England which starts on February 5, 2021.
