"Disappointing to see their lack of masks"

Amir Khan has allegedly breached lockdown rules again after making a 230-mile round trip from his Bolton home to visit an upmarket restaurant in Coventry.

The boxer was spotted outside The Farmhouse, prompting criticism from fans.

The restaurant is currently closed because of the lockdown but Khan visited it on February 7, 2021, to enjoy its ‘drive-thru’ service where diners can order food and eat it in their cars.

In a social media post, The Farmhouse wrote:

“We were very busy yesterday for our Exclusive Drive-Thru but the highlight of the night was Amir Khan came through yesterday!

“Very nice, humble brother and he loved the Drive-Thru!”

Khan replied: “Thanks, The Farmhouse, had a lovely time.”

In a further breach of lockdown rules, Khan was pictured with two friends.

He ignored the two-metre distance rule by posing with his arms around them.

Under the current lockdown rules, people should only leave their home for essential reasons and should remain in their local area.

Khan’s flouting of the rules led to criticism.

One commented on the post: “Disappointing to see their lack of masks and social distancing.

“Ethnic minorities are at risk of catching Covid. It’s such a let down to see some ethnic minorities not take this seriously as they should.”

Another commented: “Amir Khan breaking the rules of the lockdown. Yet again!

“It’s just continuous and shows he doesn’t give a damn about anyone apart from himself.”

“Why would an establishment be proud to be associated with someone like this!!?

“All it goes to show is that you don’t give a damn about mask-wearing and social distancing either and that’s precisely the type of premises people should boycott and avoid.”

One netizen said: “So the rules don’t apply to influencers or now boxers.”

A comment read: “Dear Amir Khan, do you understand the lockdown rules, or do you want someone to explain them to you, fed up with has-beens like you breaking the rules.”

One person simply said: “Idiot.”

This is not the first time Amir Khan has been accused of breaching Covid-19 rules.

He and his wife Faryal Makhdoom travelled to Dubai despite Faryal revealing that she displayed Covid-19 symptoms. Prior to their trip, a surprise birthday party was held for Khan with at least 18 people in a mansion.

Khan also posted a video of the party on social media, telling the camera: “All the boys are here.”
