"Boris Johnson, he just went down to a party in lockdown"

A five-year-old girl has summed up the 10 Downing Street lockdown parties scandal in a viral video.

Nitesh Somani shared a video on Facebook of his daughter Layla explaining to her grandparents why Boris Johnson is “too naughty” to be Prime Minister anymore.

She went on to say that the PM had to go to “the naughty centre” to say sorry.

Mr Johnson caused outrage after he admitted to attending a garden party in Downing Street in May 2020 during the national lockdown.

Meanwhile, people were fined if they did the same.

He is battling to save his job but an investigation by civil servants is still looking into whether he broke the law or lied to Parliament at any stage.

Additional parties during lockdown have since come to light but it is believed that the PM was not in attendance.

Layla has now criticised Mr Johnson’s actions, saying he “can’t go back to his Prime Minister home” anymore.

In the video, Layla tells her grandparents:

“Boris Johnson, the Prime Minister, he told everybody, ‘Stay at home’, yeah?

“But in lockdown the Prime Minister, Boris Johnson, he just went down to a party in lockdown and he’s been naughty now.

“He had to go to the naughty centre and tell everybody that he’s sorry for going to a party in lockdown.

“So now he can’t be the Prime Minister anymore and he can’t go back to his Prime Minister home.”

Later in the video, she showed more leniency and stated that if he is “lucky”, he can return to his “Prime Minister home”.

The schoolgirl hoped that someone else will take over as Prime Minister and “they’ll be a good Prime Minister”.

She continued: “So he’s not a Prime Minister anymore. No. So someone else has to be a Prime Minister and they’ll be a good Prime Minister.

“But Boris Johnson, the Prime Minister, is not a Prime Minister anymore, he’s a bad Prime Minister.”

“But if he’s lucky he can go back to his Prime Minister home and he can be a Prime Minister again.”

The video attracted a lot of attention, with many loving the lighthearted video.

One person said: “Oh my gosh that’s so funny!!”

Another commented: “Very clever young lady.”

A third wrote: “Brilliant – new Prime Minister in the making!”

One comment read: “Very true Layla you’re so right, he is very naughty.”
