“Dhiraj has left no stone unturned"
Five years after her death, Boney Kapoor announced the release of the biography Sridevi: The Life of a Legend, a book detailing his late wife’s iconic film career.
In the 1980s and 1990s, Sridevi dominated Indian cinema and was one of the most well-known and successful actresses of her time.
On Wednesday, February 8, 2023, Westland Books announced that they will publish the official biography of the talented actress.
Researcher, columnist and writer Dhiraj Kumar is making his writing debut as the author of the biography.
The executive editor of the Westland Books publishing house, Sanghamitra Biswas, explained why the biography attracted them.
Biswas commented: “What attracted us to this book was the wealth of research behind it.
“Dhiraj Kumar’s friendship with Sridevi and her family enables him to offer a unique insight into the inner world of the very private star.
“This book will make readers rediscover an icon.”
Dhiraj Kumar, shared his experience publishing his first book:

The book will chronicle the life of renowned actress Sridevi, who passed away in 2018 at the age of 54.
According to the publishers, the book offers a 360-degree depiction of Sridevi and believes readers will rediscover the icon.
According to Boney Kapoor, she was a force of nature who was happiest when her art was displayed onscreen.
When speaking to the media, Boney Kapoor revealed that his wife was an extremely private person despite her position in the limelight.
The producer is content with Dhiraj Kumar writing her biography as Sridevi considered him family.
In 1979, Sridevi made her lead Bollywood debut in Solva Sawan.
During her 40-year career, the well-known actress has appeared in more than 300 movies.
In 2013, she was given the prestigious Padma Shri award.
In addition, she has won the National Film Award, multiple Filmfare Awards and international honours.
Although a date has not been set, publishers have confirmed that Sridevi – The Life of a Legend will be released later in 2023.
