The renowned Pakistani actor Khalid Butt has passed away. Many Pakistani celebrities took to social media to give their condolences.

He was mostly known for his notable PTV productions.

Khalid Butt, a seasoned actor in television, film, and theatre, passed away on January 11, 2024, in Lahore at the age of 76.

It was reported that the cause of death was due to complications from liver and kidney diseases.

Khalid Butt was from Multan and initially embarked on his journey in the film industry in the 70s. He was working as an assistant director.

However, it was in 1978 that he was allowed to showcase his acting skills.

Throughout his career, he appeared in both Urdu and Punjabi films and alongside that, he also contributed to successful television serials.

He not only directed a film but also received the prestigious Pride of Performance award for his remarkable contributions.

He was mostly known for his notable PTV productions. These include Jangal Pura (1997), Boota to Toba Tek Singh (1999), and Landa Bazaar (2002).

Khalid made an appearance in the drama serial GT Road in 2019.

Recently, he returned to the small screen with acclaimed dramas like Jeevan Nagar and Khaie, the latter being his last show, playing Faysal Quraishi’s father.

In the wake of the devastating news, numerous messages of sympathy and grief flooded social media platforms.

Friends, fans and fellow actors expressed their heartfelt condolences, paying tribute to Khalid and his work.

Netizens claimed his physical condition could be seen through his appearance in Khaie.

Behind-the-scenes glimpses of the drama are also being shared all over social media platforms after his death.

Faysal, his Khaie co-star, took to Instagram to share a lengthy video, reminiscing about their time together.

He also discussed how Khalid Butt would be quite unwell during the shoot and how he seemed to be in pain.
