"We all wanted to make something fantastic."

Taapsee Pannu, who has many projects in the pipeline, has called her upcoming film Looop Lapeta “experimental”.

The actress also opened up about her career in which she found success with tricky roles rather than playing conventional parts.

Netflix’s Looop Lapeta, an official Hindi remake of the German film Run Lola Run, will see Taapsee in the role of yet another quirky character.

Taapsee plays a woman caught in a time loop as she tries to save her boyfriend from imminent death.

Talking about the process of filming Looop Lapeta, Taapsee compared it to an “experimental college project”.

The actress said: “It felt like we were working on an experimental college project.

“The cast and crew were filled with so much passion, we all wanted to make something fantastic.

“It also helps when you don’t take things too heavy-duty, and make a film while having fun.

“That vibe is reflected in our film.”

Taapsee Pannu added: “I have made a career out of playing tricky roles, as I’ve never got conventional roles to play.”

Taapsee Pannu, who plays Savi in the Aakash Bhatia film, says:

“People used to say that a certain film is commercial and some were ‘off-beat’, films used to be categorised this way.

“But, for me, there are only two types of films, one that is entertaining, by which I mean that it will keep you glued.

“Or the film that is not entertaining.

“A film can keep you glued because it is so intense, or it can keep you glued because it is so funny.

“There can be multiple reasons, but the result should be that it should keep you glued.”

Taapsee Pannu further revealed that central character roles were never part of her plan as an actress.

She said: “I never really wanted it to go like that.

“I never only wanted to do films where I am leading the cast.”

“That’s why I tried to do films like Mission Mangal in between.

“I tried to do Soorma also. But it just so happens that I can only choose from what I get.

“And, for some reason, I am not getting the parts where I am not the centre of attention. I really don’t understand why.”

In other news, the actress, who has been dating Danish badminton player Mathias Boe for several years, revealed that his relationship with her father is “very respectful”.

Taapsee Pannu, who described her father as a man who is hard to please, said that she did not introduce any of her ex-boyfriends to him as she was not ‘sure’ of them herself.

Looop Lapeta, which also stars Tahir Raj Bhasin, is set to release on Netflix on February 4, 2022.
