"It was cool to be part of it."
Sumayah Kazi made a name for herself in The Great British Bake Off 2024.
She did exceedingly well in Channel 4’s baking competition and was acclaimed for the artistry and innovativeness in her creations.
Sumayah recently took to Instagram to announce some exciting news.
She revealed that she had written and shot three new recipes for the sixth edition of Anyway Magazine.
Posting a series of pictures of herself in her element, Sumayah Kazi wrote:
“I was honoured to write and shoot three recipes for [Anyway]’s sixth edition – on a perfect party food spread!
“I love the sentiment and ethos behind Jen and Keely’s work – bringing back tween/teens tailored media.
“So, it was cool to be part of it.
“Seeing photos of people making and reading the recipes is so surreal!
“From ages 11 to 17, Meara and I would always do photoshoots for me – whether it was baking, cakes, flowers or people.
“So, I invited her to be my assistant. Thanks for letting me raid your closet and being my creative eye!
“We were both fasting that day and I remember it being arduous being surrounded by so much food all day, but worth it.
“And of course, thank you Neil for taking this on last minute, your amazing hard work, support, and putting up with my perfectionist tendencies.
“I hope I didn’t ruin your perception of me!”

Meanwhile, Sumayah Kazi was the sixth baker The Great British Bake Off tent in 2024, after she found desserts challenging.
At 18 years old, Sumayah was the youngest baker in the series. After her exit aired, she said:
“Bake Off has been the most wonderful experience of my life, and I’m so grateful to be part of it.
“I still can’t wrap my head around it! It has truly changed my life for the better.
“I’ve gained a newfound sense of confidence, motivation, and friends for life.
“Leaving the tent certainly comes with a cohort of mixed emotions, but I am so proud of everything I managed to achieve (a Showstopper handshake was beyond my wildest dreams!).
“And I left the tent with the biggest smile on my face.”
“Every day was so much fun, and I’m so happy to have shared my love of bakery and art with you all!
“Thanks for all the wonderful support across the world – that is truly CRAZY to me!
“My journey was cut short, but I made memories to last a lifetime!
“Thanks for allowing this dream of mine to come true.”
After wrapping up filming, Sumayah Kazi shifted to university, where she began studying dentistry.
