Siddhant Chaturvedi has recalled being “blacklisted” after he rejected Brahmastra.

The talented actor garnered acclaim for his performance in Gully Boy, however, he opened up about a significant career decision that led to repercussions within the industry.

Siddhant disclosed that he was “blacklisted” by casting professionals after turning down a role in the film Brahmastra Part 1: Shiva.

The revelation sheds light on the challenges actors face in navigating career opportunities and the industry’s response to such decisions.

Siddhant Chaturvedi’s journey took a turn when he received an offer to star in Brahmastra.

However, the actor found himself at a crossroads when the role was presented to him without a script or audition.

Despite being touted as a superhero character, Siddhant expressed reservations about committing to a project without adequate details.

Chaturvedi recalled: “One month before Gully Boy, this (Brahmastra) happened.

“The makers of a very big film that eventually became the biggest film offered me a part.

“I had got it through a casting director.

“It was one of the characters, but it didn’t have any script or audition.

“They said that you do martial arts, it was an action fantasy film.

“There is an ashram, I got the role of one of the superheroes in it. So they said I should do it and it’s a VFX-heavy project and it will take 5 years to make”

Amid uncertainties about his character and the project’s trajectory, Siddhant decided to decline the offer.

But it was a move that would have significant implications for his career.

He recounted the aftermath of his decision, revealing that he was “blacklisted” by casting professionals.

Siddhant continued: “I was blacklisted from casting.

“I was blacklisted because they thought this boy is crazy. I had become infamous in the casting circuit for refusing selected roles.”

He also expressed frustration at being labelled “arrogant” and “cocky”.

He highlighted the challenges of navigating industry dynamics and expectations.

Despite facing criticism, Siddhant remained steadfast in his decision.

He has since featured in projects such as Bunty Aur Babli 2, Gehraiyaan, and Phone Bhoot.

Reflecting on his experience, Siddhant acknowledged the fortuitous timing of his decision as the character he was offered in Brahmastra was ultimately edited out of the film.
