"I’m leaving this show"

In a recent episode of Super Dancer 4, Shilpa Shetty said she was going to leave the series as she was no longer capable of judging such extraordinary performances.

The judge went a step further than giving her famous ‘super se upar’ compliment.

Actress Shilpa Shetty has been a judge on Super Dancer 4 alongside Geeta Kapur and Anurag Basu since March 2021.

Featuring Govinda and Chunky Pandey as guest stars, a clip of the episode was shared on social media.

A contestant named Pari and her ‘Super Guru’ Pankaj drew inspiration from Michael Jackson for their performance.

The pair included many of his iconic dance moves in their routine, including the famous moonwalk.

They danced to ‘Kya Lagti Hai Haye Rabba’ from the 1998 film Dulhe Raja.

The duo’s performance blew away the judges.

Chunky said: “Oh baap re! (Oh my god)”

Whilst Shilpa shouted:

“Main ye show chod ke jaa rahi hoon, aukaat nahi hai humari (I’m leaving this show, I’m incapable of judging this).”

Contestants also danced to hit songs from films starring guest judges Govinda and Chunky Pandey.

Aired on September 19, 2021, the episode received praise on social media from netizens.

The show is incredibly popular both in India and the UK, attracting over 87,000 viewers on Sony TV.

The fourth season started on March 27, 2021.

Shilpa returned to the set of Super Dancer 4 in August 2021 after taking a break as a result of her husband’s high-profile pornography case.

Raj Kundra was arrested in July 2021 for his alleged involvement in the creation and distribution of pornography.

In his defence, Kundra has said that it is simply adult content.

Shilpa previously took a break from Super Dancer 4 when her family were diagnosed with Covid-19.

Upon her return to the show, her fellow judge Anurag Basu said:

“I just gave her a warm hug. We all gave her a hug.”

“Because we don’t know she might have gone through hell, many things have happened so we didn’t feel right to even ask anything or talk about it.”

The dance reality show is currently in its fourth season. The winner of season 3 was Rupsa Batabyal.

In the next episode, airing on September 25, 2021, the judges will be joined by Padmini Kolhapure and Poonam Dhillon.

Super Dancer 4 airs every Saturday and Sunday on Sony Entertainment Television and Sony Entertainment Television Asia.
