“The Crime Branch team had to intervene"
Bollywood star Shilpa Shetty reportedly had a “huge argument” with husband Raj Kundra over his recent arrest.
Kundra has constantly made headlines recently for his alleged involvement in a pornography-related case.
Mumbai Police arrested him on July 19, 2021, for allegedly creating and distributing adult films to mobile apps.
The Crime Branch recently raided the couple’s home, where Shetty was also questioned.
According to reports, Shilpa Shetty felt upset after the interrogation and she and Raj Kundra had an argument.
In her statement, Shetty claimed to have no involvement in the pornography case. She also said her husband had nothing to do with it either.
However, during the raid, Shetty and Kundra argued and she allegedly broke down in front of the police.
She revealed that Kundra had kept her in the dark about the content and she did not know anything about it.
Mumbai Police sources told ANI:
“The day Crime Branch took Raj Kundra to his Mumbai home for the searches, Shilpa Shetty was questioned too.
“Shilpa was very upset after the interrogation.
“She and Kundra had a huge argument where she shouted and asked him what was the need of doing such a thing and why he did everything.
“The Crime Branch team had to intervene between the couple to pacify the actress.”
The source added that Shilpa Shetty questioned Raj Kundra on his reasons for his actions, saying:
“Shattered Shilpa told Kundra that due to his actions the family name is getting defamed and their endorsements in the industry are being cancelled and the family is facing huge financial losses.
“She asked him what was the need of doing such things when they achieved a standing in society.”
According to ANI, Kundra anticipated his arrest after the Mumbai Crime Branch arrested nine people in connection with the case in March 2021.
Speaking of this, Crime Branch sources also said that Kundra had a ‘Plan B’ to escape the investigation, revealing:
“Kundra had changed his phone in March so that no data can be recovered.
“When Crime Branch officials asked him about his old phone, he told them he threw it away.
“Police believe that the old phone contains many important pieces of evidence and is looking for it.”
Although Shilpa Shetty claimed to have no involvement in her husband’s current case, she is not out of the woods yet.
ANI recently tweeted to say that Shetty will not be off the hook until officials investigate all angles of the case.
