"This is the Pakistan PM not some troll tweeting!"
Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif mocked India’s T20 World Cup defeat to England, however, his tweet backfired as many criticised him.
India suffered a crushing 10-wicket loss to England in the semi-final.
The men in blue scored a respectable 168-6.
But impressive batting from Jos Buttler and Alex Hales, coupled with poor fielding from India, led to a dominant England scoring 170-0.
After the match, captain Rohit Sharma said:
“Pretty disappointed how it turned up today. We batted well at the backend to get that score.
“We were not up to the mark with the ball, we couldn’t turn up today.
“It’s all about handling the pressure in knockout games. All these guys have played enough to understand that.
“These guys have played under pressure in IPL games, it’s all about keeping calm.
“We were nervy to start with, but you got to give credit to their openers, they played really well.”
England’s victory means they will play Pakistan in the final on November 13, 2022.
This was only the second time India had lost in a T20 World Cup game by 10 wickets.
In the 2021 tournament, Pakistan were the first team to achieve the feat against India, with Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan scoring an unbeaten 152.
Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif reminded India with a brutal dig.
Listing both England and Pakistan’s scores against India, Sharif tweeted about the T20 World Cup final.
So, this Sunday, it’s:
152/0 vs 170/0

However, his dig at India led to him being criticised, with many wondering how a Prime Minister has the time to troll.
One person asked:
“Are you Prime Minister of Pakistan or Prime Comedian?”
Another said: “Prime Minister of a country.”
Others slammed him for his “childish” post.
Some social media users even decided to troll the PM, with many aiming digs at Pakistan’s economy.
One Indian Twitter user wrote: “So this Sunday it’s: GDP rank 42nd vs GDP rank 6th (nominal, 2022).
“And we the world’s 5th largest economy that overtook both of the above will have a fun time cheering and enjoying whoever wins, cause WE are funding the #ICCWorldCup2022. Enjoy.”
Another commented: “Many Indians were happy for Pakistan cricket and were looking forward to seeing a thrilling India vs Pakistan final.
“This is the Pakistan PM not some troll tweeting!
“Would any of our Indian PM’s tweet this way? I guess this maturity in our leadership also shows in our economy!”
Some pointed out Pakistan’s loss to Zimbabwe in the tournament.
A user said: “At least we lost against a quality team, we were top of the table in both groups.
“Only team in the group stage to win four matches. We win against you. You even lost against Zimbabwe, well best wishes for the finals.”
