"what am I supposed to say to that?"
Love Island star Shakira Khan stated that she is “very much alive” after viral videos falsely claimed that she had died.
The 22-year-old addressed the bizarre claims in a TikTok video.
A confused Shakira began: “Guys… why is everyone saying that I’m dead?
“Why is everyone saying that I’m dead, oh my god.”
Taking a serious turn, she continued: “Nah, it’s actually not funny because my nan had sent me a video of somebody saying that I’m dead.”
Shakira then showed message screenshots, revealing videos with black-and-white thumbnails that stated she had died.
Shakira said: “Realistically though Grandma, what am I supposed to say to that?”
She sarcastically quipped: “Are these my last ever minutes. I’m getting a bit nervous now.”
Addressing those spreading the fake rumours, Shakira added:
“Whoever’s spreading those false rumours… you and me are gonna have words.”
According to Shakira, the videos were an AI-generated montage.
She told followers: “Sorry to break it to the Facebook mums, I am very much alive, don’t believe everything you see on TikTok.”
In the comments section, some fans saw the funny side of such strange rumours.
Her Love Island close friends Toni Laites and Yasmin Pettet jokingly said “rest in peace angel” and “fly high baby girl”.

The bizarre hoax comes just days after Shakira Khan hit out at online trolls criticising her for spending time with certain Love Island co-stars.
Shakira had shared a video of herself walking through London alongside fellow Islanders Alima Gagigo, Lauren Wood and Megan Forte Clarke.
Some were disappointed that Shakira was spending time with Lauren, who had been involved in a love triangle with Harrison Solomon and Toni.
Others wondered why Shakira was spending time with Islanders other than Toni and Yasmin.
One person wrote: “Her post with Lauren, Megan and Alima had a lot of abuse in the comments acting like Lauren was the Anti-Christ.”
Another said:
“Y’all need to realise that Love Island UK is VERY different from Love Island USA!”
“We don’t drag on beef from the show for months because we watched them on a SCREEN and I’m sure these girls know how to overcome screen drama.”
But Shakira was quick to respond, using her Instagram stories to hit back at the negativity.
She wrote: “[Sic] If yous carry on being mean I’m gonna put you in time out.
“Some of y’all are nastyyyyy. What happened to be nice n kind n mental helf [health].”
Despite the backlash, Shakira appears unfazed by the online chatter, and has made it clear she’s not going anywhere.
