Shakib Khan to star in ‘Tandob’

Director Raihan Rafi has kicked off pre-production for his highly anticipated film Tandob, announcing Shakib Khan as the main lead.

The film is slated for a 2025 Eid-ul-Adha release.

Raihan, who is also credited with writing the story, is working alongside co-writer Adnan Adib Khan, known for his work on Toofan.

While details of the plot remain under wraps, Raihan has promised an action-packed, high-energy film that will surprise audiences.

The film has already gathered significant attention, partly because of the involvement of Shakib Khan.

Initially, Shakib had expressed verbal interest in the project, and producer Shahriar Shakil confirmed that the actor would indeed star in Tandob.

Shahriar, who heads SVF and Alpha-i Entertainment, revealed in an interview with Prothom Alo that Shakib Khan was their preferred choice for the lead.

After reviewing the story, Shakib committed to the project, and pre-production is now moving forward at a rapid pace.

Raihan is excited to be working with Shakib Khan again, after the duo’s past successful collaborations.

He shared: “Audiences have long wanted to see me work with Shakib Khan again. This time, we’re bringing something fresh to the table, and I’m thrilled about this project.”

He further teased that the film would showcase a new side of Shakib Khan, something that fans can look forward to.

Although Raihan Rafi has been tight-lipped about the storyline, he has hinted that Tandob will be a significant departure from his previous films.

He said that it will have more intense action elements and a fresh approach.

One interesting detail is that Tandob has taken precedence over the much-anticipated sequel to Toofan.

Raihan explained that he wanted to take more time to perfect Toofan 2’s story.

He said that Tandob felt like the right project to pursue at this time.

Raihan is also planning to bring in international talent for Tandob, including foreign fight directors and crew members.

While the lead actress remains a mystery, Raihan has promised an exciting surprise announcement soon.

Producer Shahriar Shakil is confident that the film will exceed expectations.

He said:

“The strength of the film lies in its story. Tandob will be a huge leap from Toofan.

“The audience has never seen anything like this, and we are certain it will be a game-changer for the industry.”

With the groundwork already laid, production is set to begin in February 2024.
