"Let's enjoy the film without putting ourselves and others at risk."

Salman Khan has reacted to a video of fireworks being set off in a packed cinema hall during the screening of Tiger 3.

The action film, which also stars Katrina Kaif, was released on November 12, 2023.

It saw hundreds of thousands of advanced bookings and on release day, fans filled up cinemas to watch the film.

Videos are going viral, showing dozens of fans singing and dancing during screenings.

But at a theatre in Malegaon, Maharashtra, some fans set off fireworks while the film was playing.

While Tiger 3 was on the big screen, a group of people are seen setting off fireworks near the front.

As sparks flew across the theatre and hit the ceiling, cinemagoers were seen running for safety.

However, things only became more chaotic because those running away inadvertently caused a stampede, posing danger for others.

Reports of fans setting off fireworks inside cinema halls during Tiger 3 have also come to light.

The incidents prompted Salman to urge fans not to do such things.

He tweeted: “I’m hearing about fireworks inside theatres during Tiger 3.

“This is dangerous. Let’s enjoy the film without putting ourselves and others at risk. Stay safe.”

Ram Gopal Varma also reacted and criticised the fans, writing:

“And we think we are not MAD.”

Social media users were also critical of the dangerous acts.

One said: “Worst thing to do!!”

Another wrote:

“Today, the government has imposed restrictions on bursting crackers outside, but they’re bursting inside theatres…”

A third added: “This is just not safe! These people should be arrested for risking others like this.”

Incidents of fireworks being set off during Bollywood film screenings are not uncommon and this was the case during Salman’s 2021 release Antim: The Final Truth.

The videos caught the actor’s attention and posted a lengthy statement, condemning such actions.

He said at the time: “Request all my fans not to take firecrackers inside the auditorium as it could prove to be a huge fire hazard thereby endangering your lives and also others.

“My request to theatre owners is not to allow firecrackers to be taken inside the cinema and security should stop them from doing so at entry point.

“Enjoy the film by all means but please please avoid this is my request to all my fans.. thank you.”

Meanwhile, Tiger 3 is Salman’s biggest film opening.

On day one, the film grossed Rs. 43 Crore (£4.2 million) and according to trade analyst Taran Adarsh, he called Tiger 3‘s Diwali release a “game changer”.

He added: “While no major Hindi film has released on Diwali Day in more than a decade (film biz is severely impacted, since people are busy with festivities and Laxmi Puja), Tiger 3 emerges a game changer.

“Decimates all box office records for Diwali Day.

“Hold on, not only is Tiger 3 the highest opener on Diwali Day, but also Salman Khan’s biggest opener ever (yes, you read that right!). Sunday – Rs. 43 cr. India biz. Hindi version. Box office.”
