"Help the concerned authorities to help us"

Bollywood director and actress Pooja Bhatt is condemning the irresponsible behaviour of those breaking Covid-19 rules.

The Indian government has implemented measures to help control the spread of the virus in the country as cases continue to rise.

However, many are continuing to put others in danger by breaking the safety rules.

Pooja Bhatt is furious at people breaking the safety protocols in place to help slow the spread of the virus.

Now, amid the rising Covid-19 cases in India, she has taken to Twitter to ask people to make a change.

Bhatt’s tweet came on Thursday, March 25, 2021.

She said:

“Mask up people and please follow #COVID19 safety protocol.

“The virus is far more resilient than we would like to believe. Help the concerned authorities to help us please!

“Too many people have been working tirelessly to keep us safe. Yet we behave so irresponsibly! Simply not done!”

Twitter users responded to Pooja Bhatt’s tweet, expressing their agreement with her statement.

One said: “Very true.

“Especially since now we have the UK (Kent) variant in India, as well as an Indian double mutation variant within the last few days.”

Another said:

“The state government is busy with other things, we have to take care of ourselves.”

Members of the Bollywood industry are known to be at high risk of contracting Covid-19, due to their constant exposure to the virus when working.

Multiple actors and actresses have already tested positive for the virus, including Amitabh Bachchan and Ranbir Kapoor.

Amid the rising number of cases, India’s vaccine rollout is continuing, with Salman Khan receiving his first dose on Wednesday, March 24, 2021.

However, according to veteran Bollywood actress Soni Razdan, Covid-19 vaccines should be available for all actors.

Taking to Twitter to voice her opinion on the subject, Razdan said that actors are contracting Covid-19 because they are unable to wear masks when working.

However, most are still ineligible for the vaccine.

In a tweet from Wednesday, March 17, 2021, Soni Razdan said:

“So many actors get COVID and are at huge risk when working. I mean we actually can’t wear masks.

“But no one seems to think they need to be able to take the vaccine yet.”

However, netizens hit back at Razdan for her comments, claiming that the acting profession is not crucial.

Therefore, Bollywood industry members do not need to be prioritised.
