A mother’s nine-year search for her missing child lies at the heart of Shaque: Trust No One.
But finding the truth may prove harder than finding the answers.
The mystery thriller marks Parineeti Chopra’s series debut as a story of motherhood, suspicion and fractured relationships.
Created by Rensil D’Silva and Siddharth P. Malhotra, the Netflix series asks how well we can really know those closest to us.
As each revelation changes what appears to be true, trust becomes increasingly difficult to hold onto.
A 9-year Search
At the centre of Shaque: Trust No One is a mother who has spent nine years searching for her missing child.
Her determination to keep looking provides the emotional foundation for a story that gradually draws attention to the people surrounding her.
The search is not presented as a straightforward journey. Instead, the series explores how uncertainty can affect relationships when the people closest to someone begin to appear less trustworthy.

That balance between suspense and emotion is also central to how Netflix describes the series. Tanya Bami, Series Head, Netflix India, said:

When Trust Starts to Break Down
Shaque, which means suspicion or doubt, points towards one of the series’ central ideas.
As the mother continues searching, the people around her become increasingly important to understanding what happened and whether everything is as it seems.
The mystery isn’t entirely placed around the missing child as the series uses relationships to create uncertainty.
Each character has their own conflicts and secrets, leaving the audience to question their motives and reconsider what they think they know.
Malhotra said: “When Rensil narrated the story to me, I was hooked.
“There was something about the world he had created that immediately stayed with me, and I knew I had to be a part of it – that this was a story that needed to be told.
“Being involved with Rensil as a co-creator and producer, alongside Sapna, has been an absolute pleasure.
“Shaque: Trust No One is relentless, nerve-wracking, emotional and incredibly pacey.

A Debut Series for Parineeti Chopra
Shaque: Trust No One also marks a debut series for Parineeti Chopra as she heads into an ensemble cast.
Alongside Chopra, the cast includes Soni Razdan, Anup Soni, Jennifer Winget, Tahir Raj Bhasin, Harleen Sethi, Dhruv Chowdhary and Sumeet Vyas.
Bami said: “We’re thrilled to collaborate again with creator-producer Siddharth P. Malhotra and partner with Rensil D’Silva as he makes his Netflix debut with this story.
“With a powerhouse female ensemble featuring Parineeti Chopra, Jennifer Winget, Soni Razdan and Harleen Sethi, alongside Tahir Raj Bhasin, Sumeet Vyas and Anup Soni, Shaque promises to be a perfect binge-watch.”
For Malhotra, the series continues a run of work that includes Tribhanga, Maharaj and Ikka, while giving audiences a story built around motherhood and the consequences of losing trust.
He added: “I can’t wait for audiences to enter this world with us and spend the journey guessing, questioning and wondering where the truth really lies.”
