"It’s disturbing how casually people abuse retail workers.”
A viral video capturing a woman violently attacking a male employee at a Bonanza Satrangi store in Islamabad has triggered widespread public outrage.
The footage shows the store in disarray as the woman slaps, kicks, and screams at the employee while other shoppers passively watch.
Despite the aggression, the staff member remained composed, earning praise from social media users.
Bonanza Satrangi released an official statement the following day, denouncing the woman’s behaviour.
The brand commended their team for handling the situation with professionalism.
“They managed the incident with great restraint and tact, prioritised de-escalation and resolution.”
The brand reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining a respectful and safe shopping environment for both customers and staff.
The video, however, provided no context for the altercation. Neither has the brand revealed what sparked the incident.
Still, the outrage stems not just from the assault itself, but also from the passivity of witnesses and the lack of legal action so far.
As of now, no report has been filed with the Margalla Police Station and no FIR has been registered.
Many online have pointed to the deeply entrenched issue of customer entitlement and class privilege in such scenarios.
A user wrote: “This isn’t new. It’s just the first one caught clearly on camera. It’s disturbing how casually people abuse retail workers.”
Another added: “Some think that money or social status gives them the right to treat others like dirt. This woman’s behaviour is disgusting and uncalled for.”

Critics have also directed their frustration toward bystanders in the video, questioning why no one intervened or defended the young man.
A user asked:
“Is filming more important than stopping an assault now?”
Under Bonanza Satrangi’s Facebook post, commenters pushed the brand for more than words.
Users demanded visible, tangible action to support the employee, with suggestions ranging from a formal reward to a promotion.
A user wrote: “Acknowledging him publicly is the least you can do. He upheld your brand’s values while being humiliated.”
The footage continues to circulate across platforms like Instagram and TikTok, with many netizens demanding that the woman face legal consequences.
Hashtags calling for her arrest have trended regionally, with some users tagging local authorities in hopes of speeding up action.
Despite the social pressure, no official update has yet emerged from law enforcement.
