"Thank you for the backlash."

Nora Fatehi has addressed the heated controversy surrounding the song ‘Sarke Chunar Teri Sarke’ from KD: The Devil.

Her clarification came after receiving intense backlash from several celebrities and social media users.

The actress officially distanced herself from the Hindi version of the track through a detailed statement on her Instagram.

Fatehi stated that she originally filmed the sequence in Kannada almost three years ago.

She consented to the project because it was a big movie featuring the Bollywood star Sanjay Dutt.

The performer claimed she was completely unaware that a Hindi version with controversial lyrics would ever be released publicly.

She mentioned that she depended on the filmmakers for translations during the shoot since she does not understand Kannada.

Nothing seemed inappropriate while filming the scenes, but she later expressed her concerns to the director after hearing it.

The actress claimed the Hindi adaptation was created without her consent, and her images were used without any permission.

This included an artificial intelligence-generated poster showing her alongside Sanjay Dutt for the promotion of the film project.

Distancing herself from the song, she wrote:

“I would hate for anyone to think I endorse this.. thank you for the backlash because of this pressure the filmmakers have luckily taken it down.

“I’d also request everyone to stop sharing the song because your just giving it a platform unnecessarily.’

“However I do want to reiterate I had no idea about this Hindi song, I did not perform to it and there was no permission taken to use it with my image.”

The controversy grew after the Hindi lyrics translated by Raqib Alam went viral and drew criticism from Ashwini Vaishnaw.

The All Indian Cine Workers Association slammed the star and demanded an immediate ban on the controversial musical track.

Lyricist Raqib Alam clarified that he only translated the original Kannada lyrics and warned the makers about the content.

KD: The Devil is directed by Prem and is currently slated to hit theatres on April 30, 2026.

Sanjay Dutt has not yet released a public statement regarding the lyrics or the controversy surrounding the new film.

The movie is one of the most anticipated releases of the year, despite the negative publicity from this song.

Fans are waiting to see if any more tracks from the film will face similar scrutiny before the release.
