"But none of her promos have really excited me"
Neha Sharma has said that she is not interested in watching any of Ananya Panday’s films.
The 33-year-old made the comments during a recent interview.
Sharma spoke to host Siddharth Kannan in a video that was uploaded onto his YouTube channel on Tuesday, October 26, 2021.
Asked what comes to mind when she hears fellow actress Panday’s name, she replied:
“Honestly, no offence, but I don’t watch too many films and I don’t think there has been a film of hers that I wanted to see because I do watch promos religiously and whatever promo really excites me, I go watch the film.
“But none of her promos have really excited me to go watch her film.
“Of course, she is just up-and-coming.
“Maybe, in another five years, she will have something that I will want to watch but not as of now.”
During this interview, Sharma also spoke out about a photo that made headlines in 2018.
A selfie that she posted online was edited to include a sex toy in the background.
The actress explained: “Initially, I was traumatised. I was like, ‘Dude, this is crazy’.
“This kind of morphing and all is not good. I was obviously younger, so I was really brainf***ed at that point.
“I was like, ‘Why me and why this? Why would someone do this?
“Why are you so free to come up with this s**t?’”
Neha Sharma added: “I didn’t realise about the picture. I came on set and everybody is being a little weird and strange.
“They were like, not talking, they were all discussing, murmurs were happening.”
“And I am like, ‘What is happening? Why is everybody behaving weird?’
“I think eventually, someone came up to me and said, ‘Neha, there is this picture of you that is going viral’, and I am like, ‘What picture?’
“Then I saw it and I am like [imitates mouth dropping in shock], ‘Wow, very creative, whoever did that’.
“I was upset in the beginning but then I was like, ‘It’s okay, I know what the truth is and I really don’t need those things to satisfy me’.”
Sharma had later tweeted the original image with the caption:
“It’s sad how misogynistic people can be… stop morphing pics and get cheap thrills out of it… this is the original pic…”

The actress made her film debut in the Telegu film Chirutha (2007) before being cast as a lead in another Telegu film, Kurradu (2009).
She began her Hindi film career with action thriller Crook (2010) which also starred Emraan Hashmi.
Meanwhile, Ananya Panday first appeared in Student of the Year 2 (2019) with Tiger Shroff and Tara Sutaria.
She most recently starred in Khaali Peeli (2020) and will next be in Liger (2022).
It comes as Panday is being targeted by the NCB amid the Aryan Khan drugs case.
