"You have to show me I can trust you now."
Navin Waqar opened up about the breakdown of her relationship and highlighted the red flags to look out for.
The actress appeared on the FHM Pakistan podcast, hosted by Adnan Faisal.
She spoke at length about her acting career, her rise to fame after Humsafar, as well as sharing an insight into her personal life.
Adnan asked Navin if she had ever had her heart broken, to which she replied she had suffered a horrible end to a relationship.
She explained: “When I fixed my broken heart, I cleared it of a few things. I taught myself to not trust anyone blindly.
“I do not have the patience to deal with tragedy. I’m a very sensitive person.
“If I argue with my friend I cannot rest until we are speaking again.
“When you fix your heart after a horrible breakup, you take trust out of your heart. You have to show me I can trust you now.
“Everyone speaks, but you need to show me what you’re about.”
As the interview progressed, Adnan asked Navin what she considered to be red flags in a relationship.
She replied: “Respect is the first thing to look for. If someone does not respect you in the way he behaves with you, that is the biggest red flag.
“This goes for both men and women.
“There is no relationship in this world that does not require respect. If you can’t respect someone then you can’t love them either.
“There is a huge difference between being egotistical and demanding respect from somebody who is being disrespectful.
“Trust is next. If someone breaks your trust, it depends on you to give them a second chance. It depends on how sorry they are.
“I have trust issues, I don’t trust anyone easily, I allow them in my life after I have assessed them, be it friends or anyone else.
“If anyone breaks your trust it is an indication, that if anyone is showing you who they are, believe them the first time.
“If you give someone a second chance you will constantly monitor them in the back of your mind.
“Do you want to live like that? I don’t.
“I would rather spend my energy elsewhere than be someone’s bodyguard.
“Whoever wants to enter my life, they have to abide by these rules.”
As the interview came to an end, Navin was asked if she had any regrets about any part of her life.
While there were a few things, Navin Waqar felt that if those things had not happened then she would not have become the person she is today.
“If you go through something in life that you regret then that is because it is trying to teach you something.
“Learn from it. I have reached the age and mental space where I don’t regret things because I have learnt from them.”
