"pales in comparison to managing an IPL team"
PV Sindhu is set to marry Venkata Datta Sai in an intimate ceremony in Udaipur.
Festivities will kick off on December 20, 2024, with the wedding ceremony expected to take place on December 22.
A grand wedding reception will be held in Hyderabad on December 24.
The wedding has been scheduled to ensure that PV Sindhu can return to the badminton tour in January.
Her father PV Ramana said: “The two families knew each other but it was only a month ago that everything was finalised.
“This was the only possible window as her schedule will be hectic from January.
“So that is the reason the two families decided to have the marriage ceremony on December 22.
“The reception will be held in Hyderabad on December 24. She will start her training soon after as the next season is going to be important.”
All eyes are now on her husband-to-be, who is an executive director at Posidex Technologies.
Venkata’s education has a strong foundation in liberal studies and business.
He earned a diploma in Liberal Arts and Sciences from the Foundation of Liberal and Management Education.
Venkata later pursued a degree in Accounting and Finance at Pune’s FLAME University, graduating in 2018.
He then obtained a master’s degree in Data Science and Machine Learning from the International Institute of Information Technology, Bangalore.
Venkata’s career began with various stints at JSW, working both as a summer intern and as an in-house consultant.
PV Sindhu is regarded as one of India’s greatest badminton players but Venkata has also had a sporting association.
During his time at JSW, he managed IPL side Delhi Capitals.
Reflecting on his experience, Venkata once said on LinkedIn:
“My BBA in finance and economics pales in comparison to managing an IPL team, but I must admit I learnt a lot from both of these experiences.”
In 2019, he embarked on dual leadership roles.
As the managing director of Sour Apple Asset Management and the executive director at Posidex Technologies, Venkata Datta Sai has proven his mettle as an innovator and strategist. At Posidex, his work focuses on revolutionising banking processes.
He shared: “The loan that you get in 12 seconds or the credit card you have thanks to instant credit score matching?
“Just some of the most complex problems I solve using a proprietary entity resolution search engine.”
His solutions are deployed by major banks, including HDFC and ICICI.
At Posidex Technologies, he leads marketing, HR initiatives, and global partnerships.
Meanwhile, PV Sindhu brushed off retirement talk as she prepares for the 2028 Olympics.
After winning the Syed Modi International tournament, she said:
“This (win) will definitely give me a lot of confidence. Being 29 is an advantage in many ways because I have a lot of experience.
“Being smart and experienced is key, and I’m definitely going to play for the next couple of years.
“I’ll be playing the upcoming tournaments in Malaysia, India, Indonesia, and Thailand.
“Obviously, we’ll have to pick and choose tournaments because I’ll have to be smart enough to decide what to play and what not. I need to be much smarter in terms of that.”
