Maria B Furious over Transgender Actor in 'Meri Zindagi Hai Tu'

"Were you short on female actresses?"

Pakistani fashion designer Maria B has once again stirred national discussion with her uncompromising remarks about a drama scene.

The designer specifically targeted the team of Meri Zindagi Hai Tu, accusing them of subtly promoting LGBTQ ideology in entertainment.

Her criticism focused on Episode 19, which featured a girls’ college scene that she found objectionable.

In the scene, a character appears among female students, though the actor portraying the character has transitioned into a female.

Maria B addressed the issue in a viral video, saying: “Moiz beta, is that you? I mean, it’s a girls’ college.

“I can spot three girls, and you—a biological male—are also among them.

“I was confused about that, but the whole Pakistani nation has caught you.

“It was a clever move by the team. They thought we would not know about it.”

She criticised the drama makers’ casting choices, raising concerns about professional opportunities for female actors.

“Why did you do that? Were you short on female actresses or budget?

“Or did you not know he was a biological male donning women’s attire? You have put him into a women’s space.”

She questioned: “Don’t you know that in the USA there have been countless cases where transgender individuals have raped women by presenting themselves as women, while they were biologically male?

“Actresses are earning, and now their jobs are at stake. Men will eat up our women’s rights.”

Maria added: “We, the Pakistani nation, will not accept this agenda.

“Our Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W.W.) expressed his concern about the Muslim Ummah falling prey to LGBTQ during his life, so we will not let this happen.

“I will take legal action against it.”

Her remarks quickly went viral, sparking a broader conversation about the responsibilities of drama creators in casting and representing genders.

Many social media users expressed appreciation for Maria B, praising her for highlighting concerns about women’s safety and employment in entertainment.

Veteran actor Shagufta Ejaz also expressed support, saying: “This needs to end.”

Maria B emphasised that such casting decisions could mislead audiences if not thoughtfully executed.

Meri Zindagi Hai Tu now faces increased scrutiny as the latest episode’s scene continues to circulate on social media platforms, prompting discussions.

The debate is likely to influence future productions, urging creators to carefully consider the implications of casting choices.
