subjecting her daughter to inhumane treatment

Amina Arooj, who is a suspect in the Khalil-ur-Rehman Qamar kidnapping case, claimed she was subjected to physical and mental torture while in police custody.

Amina was said to have been involved in the honey-trapping incident.

She met with the Pakistani screenwriter before a gang allegedly kidnapped him.

The group then allegedly robbed and beat Khalil.

A private video of Khalil and Amina soon emerged.

Amina Arooj and 11 others were arrested.

She has now unveiled a distressing narrative of alleged abuse and torture within the corridors of law enforcement in Pakistan.

This unfolded when Amina’s mother, Zeenat Bibi, sought justice through a petition in the Lahore High Court (LHC).

She accused the authorities of subjecting her daughter to inhumane treatment under the guise of legal proceedings.

The petition was lodged in the LHC, detailing harrowing accounts of Amina’s arrest.

Her mother alleged that brutal physical and psychological torment was inflicted upon her during her time in custody.

Zeenat Bibi claimed that when she attempted to visit her daughter in jail, she was informed that Amina had been taken to the hospital.

Justice Tariq Saleem Sheikh presided over the case.

Amina herself came forth before the LHC on August 20, 2024, corroborating the accusations of torture she endured.

However, in a stark contradiction, the police vehemently refuted any truth to the alleged acts of brutality.

The investigating officer requested a physical remand for Amina Arooj to facilitate the completion of the investigation.

The court further instructed the police to present Amina again on August 30, along with a detailed investigation, including ultrasound and X-rays.

Amina Arooj’s medical report from the Services Hospital supported the claims of torture.

Dr Faraz, along with the Punjab Government Law Officer, appeared before the court to present Amina’s medical report.

The Additional Advocate General Punjab submitted the findings, which revealed evidence of torture on 19 different parts of Amina’s body.

The report indicated that she requires two separate medical tests due to the injuries sustained.

According to the medical report, Amina had visible marks of violence prior to May 31.

This included specific injuries to her stomach that resulted in bleeding.

Further inquiries revealed that Amina had been transferred to the custody of the investigating officer of the Organised Crime Unit.

Justice Tariq Saleem Sheikh mandated the Director General of the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) to launch a formal complaint.

He ordered to instigate legal proceedings against the police officials involved in the torture of Amina Arooj.
