The motive behind the act remains unclear.
Bollywood actor and writer Kamaal Rashid Khan, widely known as KRK, has once again found himself at the centre of controversy after his arrest.
Mumbai police detained KRK in connection with a firing incident reported at a residential complex in Andheri’s Oshiwara area.
According to investigators, the incident took place on January 18, 2026, inside Nalanda Society, a building located in Mumbai’s western suburbs.
Police officials stated that two bullets were fired into the structure, raising immediate alarm among residents of the housing complex.
One bullet was recovered from a second-floor apartment, while another was found lodged inside a fourth-floor flat.
Following initial confusion, KRK was brought in for questioning on January 23, 2026, by Mumbai police officials.
During interrogation, he allegedly admitted to firing two rounds from his licensed firearm, according to a senior officer.
Forensic experts later linked the recovered bullets to KRK’s nearby bungalow after examining the ballistic evidence carefully.
Investigators noted that initial CCTV footage from the area failed to provide a clear lead regarding the shooter.
A formal case has now been registered under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and the Arms Act.
Police have seized KRK’s licensed weapon as part of the ongoing investigation into the firing incident.
Officials said the motive behind the act remains unclear and continues to be examined from multiple angles.
This latest episode has once again pushed KRK into the public spotlight.
Over the years, the actor and critic has been involved in several legal disputes and public feuds.
In 2021, KRK became embroiled in a high-profile defamation case filed by Bollywood star Salman Khan.
The lawsuit followed KRK’s repeated allegations and commentary after his harsh review of Radhe: Your Most Wanted Bhai.
Salman Khan’s legal team clarified that the case was based on accusations of corruption and money laundering.
Soon after the case was filed, KRK announced on social media that he would stop reviewing Salman Khan’s films.
In 2022, KRK again sparked outrage after posting remarks about cricketer Virat Kohli and actor Anushka Sharma.
He claimed in a now-deleted tweet that Sharma was responsible for Kohli’s “depression,” prompting massive backlash.
KRK also faced accusations during the 2016 box office clash between Shivaay and Ae Dil Hai Mushkil.
Ajay Devgn accused him of accepting money from Karan Johar to promote one film while attacking the other.
The dispute escalated into legal notices and reignited debate around paid film reviews in Bollywood.
That same year, filmmaker Vikram Bhatt sent KRK a defamation notice over comments about 1920 London.
Bhatt accused him of criminal defamation and intimidation following remarks targeting actor Meera Chopra.
As investigations continue, the firing case adds yet another chapter to Kamaal Rashid Khan’s long record of controversy.
