"Can't wait for this!!!"

Lady superstar Nayanthara will be seen next in the highly discussed horror thriller Connect.

As the suspense drama is nearing its release on December 22, 2022, the makers recently released the trailer of the film.

The preview has been receiving a lot of positive reviews from viewers.

The latest to appreciate the preview is Bollywood actor Janhvi Kapoor.

She wrote: “Can’t wait for this!!! @wiwiofficial looks too good.”

Reacting to her Instagram post, Nayanthara’s husband and director Vignesh Shivan wrote on the photo-sharing platform:

“Thank you Janhvi 🙂 means a lot 🙂 glad you like it.”

The trailer gives us an insight into a regular family with a couple played by Nayanthara and Vinay Rai and their teenage daughter.

Everything is good until suddenly the couple starts noticing a major change in their daughter’s behaviour.

During their search for this confusing change, they learn something that leaves them dumbstruck.

Sharing the trailer on his Instagram handle, Vignesh Shivan wrote: “#connect trailer – 22.12.22 in cinemas near you!

“#Nayanthara @anupampkher #Satyaraj @ashwin.saravanan @therowdypictures @donechannel1 @uvcreationsofficial Releasing worldwide.”

Produced by Vignesh Shivan, under his home banner Rowdy Picture, the cast of Connect includes Sathyaraj, Anupam Kher, and Haniya Nafisa in key roles, along with others.

The film marks Anupam Kher’s comeback to Kollywood after a long gap.

This is the second film for Nayanthara with filmmaker Ashwin Saravanan after the horror thriller Maya which was released in 2015.

In an interview, director-producer Vignesh Shivan spoke about why they liked this script, getting Anupam Kher on board for this film, and why this 95-minute film needed to be screened with no intermission.

Vignesh Shivan said: “The story goes in one flow – like a crescendo.

“It just keeps building up. We have seen this type of momentum in Hollywood films where it builds up and ends only when the film ends.

“This film has that potential, so I thought why not?

“Some producers might be hesitant to screen a film with no break, but since I’m also the producer and had the liberty, we thought we’d attempt to screen it with no intermission.”

He added: “We’ve requested theatres and they are also game.

“There are some pros and cons to this but we’re taking everything into account.”

On the work front, Nayanthara will be seen opposite Shah Rukh Khan starrer Jawan.

Directed by Atlee, the highly anticipated drama will see Vijay Sethupathi, Priyamani, Sunil Grover, Yogi Babu, Deepika Padukone, and Sanya Malhotra in pivotal roles, along with the rest.
