Jacqueline Fernandez has stepped out of her upcoming film The Ghost.

Directed by Praveen Sattaru, Kajal Aggarwal first walked out of the project as she is expecting her first baby.

The makers of The Ghost then welcomed Jacqueline Fernandez on board, however, the Dishoom actress has also quit the film.

Whilst the reason for Jacqueline’s departure from the project has not been disclosed, reports are suggesting that her association with alleged conman Sukesh Chandrasekhar is to blame.

A source close to the film’s team said: “Jacqueline is no longer a part of the film.

“While we don’t know the exact reason, there have been talks that her exit came to be after she landed up in trouble in an extortion case.”

The makers of The Ghost are still uncertain and in search of a replacement.

Meanwhile, the makers of the film have planned to do an abroad shoot, but are waiting for the right time due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic.

The first schedule of the film is expected to commence in June 2022.

The Ghost is billed to be an action thriller and has Saurabh as a music composer, Mukesh G as the cinematographer and Dharmendra Kakarala as the editor.

The news of Jacqueline stepping out of the film comes after the actress requested the media for privacy in an Instagram statement after her intimate photo with Sukesh Chandrasekhar went viral.

Jacqueline’s statement read: “This country and its people have always given me tremendous love and respect.

“This includes my friends from the media, from whom I have learned a lot.”

“I’m currently going through a rough patch but I’m sure that my friends and fans will see me through it.

“It is with this trust that I would request my media friends to not circulate images of a nature that intrude my privacy and personal space.”

Jacqueline’s statement continued: “You would not do this to your own loved ones, am sure you would not do this to me either.

“Hoping that justice and good sense prevails. Thank you.”

Aside from her exit from The Ghost, Jacqueline Fernandez has many other projects in the pipeline including Kick 2, Ram Setu, Bachchan Pandey and Cirkus.

The actress was last seen in the comedy-horror film Bhoot Police alongside Saif Ali Khan and Arjun Kapoor.
