"The fruit of patience is sweet, just like this one."

Since its release on August 11, 2023, Gadar 2 has been a huge success at the box office and among audiences.

The film sees Sunny Deol reprise his role as Tara Singh, this time during the 1971 Indo-Pakistan War.

When he is believed to be imprisoned in Pakistan, his son Charanjeet sets out to rescue him.

However, Tara is not in Pakistan and Charanjeet ends up being imprisoned and tortured by Pakistani soldiers under the orders of Major General Hamid Iqbal, who wants to exact revenge on Tara for eliminating his 40 men in 1947.

Upon learning this, Tara goes on a journey to save his son.

Fans were left excited at the end of the film as it read: “To be continued.”

This piqued interest in the possibility of a third film.

Director Anil Sharma hinted that this is the case, saying:

“You’ll have to wait for that. The fruit of patience is sweet, just like this one (Gadar 2).

“Some thoughts have come to me and Shaktimaan Ji’s (writer of Gadar 2) minds. So just wait everything will happen.”

Sunny Deol also spoke about the prospect of Gadar 3 as well as other sequels.

He said: “I know that everyone is waiting for these movies.

“Our whole family came together in Yamla Pagla Deewana and people laughed and enjoyed the movie.

“Everyone’s now waiting for the second part but for that, the story is very important. As of now, I don’t have the right story for it.

“I have a story ready for Apne. Let us see when we will start working on it.”

Meanwhile, Utkarsh Sharma, who played Charanjeet, said:

“I don’t know now but Shaktimaan Ji has definitely teased a script. This story took 20 years.”

He then joked that Gadar 3 could see action sequences featuring Tara Singh, his son and a grandson.

Praising Sunny, Utkarsh added:

“Sunny sir is the last action hero in the entire world who can do raw action with the conviction he has.

“Hollywood used to have such heroes like Sylvester Stallone, Arnold Schwarzenegger and Bruce Willis; but now they don’t have any such action stars.

“If we take away their superhero costumes, then they don’t have such actors, who can perform such action scenes.

“We are blessed that we have a superstar, who is best in action and he knows how to add emotions to it. He also has an impeccable command over his dialogue delivery as well.”
