The affair came to light when the lover, Akash Shah, turned up at the woman’s marital home to meet her.
Locals spotted Akash and realised he was at the house for a tryst. They then assaulted him.
A resident of Bihar’s Gopalganj, Akash revealed he had been in a relationship with the woman for two years.
He knew she was married but despite this, he was unable to forget her.
Akash explained that this was the reason why he turned up at her house to meet her.

The woman pleaded with her husband to let her be with her lover. According to police, he agreed and got them married.
After obtaining consent from both families, the man took his wife and her lover to a local temple and got them married.
He then sent the newlyweds away on the motorcycle Akash had arrived on.
