The six-day extravaganza is organised by FDCI, a non-profit organisation, dedicated to raising the profile of Indian fashion design.

The fashion week kicks off with Sabyasachi Mukherjee’s collection. His latest inspiration is drawn from  French impressionists like Monet and Henry Matisse. He has designed costumes for famous Bollywood movies such as Guzaarish, Babul, Laaga Chunari Mein Daag, Raavan, and English Vinglish, to name a few.

Opening such a prestigious event is the latest recognition to Mukherjee’s talent and creative achievements. The designer commented: “I have had a very good association with FDCI and I’m very privileged to be starting the India Couture Week again.”

“Many international brands outlets will be there in the Mall to offer a complete range of apparel and lifestyle accessories to cater every lifestyle need. There will be a dedicated area called Destination Couture in the City Center mall for Indian and International store.”
