“Without him, a film has no charm.”

Recently, Humayun Saeed graced Nida Yasir’s show Shan e Suhoor, where he opened up candidly about his life and career.

When asked about the persistent criticisms about his enduring presence as a lead actor, Saeed remained unfazed.

A critique of the actor posted online read:

“Not every star is as good as Humayun. Compared to him, other people’s fans don’t turn up for them as they do for Humayun.”

Dismissing such critiques, he remarked: “People who are beneath your level will always say negative things about you.

“They will say it of course. They must think, ‘When will he quit? He keeps appearing as a hero.’ What difference does it make? Let them talk.”

Asserting his conviction, he added: “The day they stop buying my tickets is the day I will know that my time is over, or I am not doing the right kind of work.”

He acknowledged the enduring nature of criticism, noting that detractors have been vocal since his debut film and will likely continue.

Fans agreed with his statement.

One person said: “Without him, a film has no charm.”

Another wrote: “Humayun is a person who brings people to cinemas.”

In addition, Saeed gave a reality check to the stars who have millions of followers.

He raised doubts about the importance of having millions of followers on platforms such as Instagram.

He compared it to the disappointing performance of their films at the box office.

Saeed highlighted the difference between superficial online popularity and genuine fan support.

Saeed posed a question: “Why do people with 10 million followers see only a fraction turn up when their films release?”

He elaborated, suggesting: “Either these followers are fake, and I’m not referring to purchased ones, or they simply aren’t genuine fans.

“There’s a distinction between social media enthusiasts and true supporters who invest in your work.”

He emphasised that true fans are those who demonstrate their appreciation by buying tickets and attending movie screenings:

“Real fans aren’t just online admirers; they’re the ones who spend money to watch your movies in theatres.

“It’s true. These people have millions of followers. But what’s the use when they won’t even show up at cinemas for them?”

Humayun Saeed stands as a towering figure in Pakistani entertainment, recognised both as a superstar and a highly successful producer.
