Since the teaser for Fighter was released, viewers cannot help but identify similarities between the film and Top Gun.
The upcoming Bollywood film marks the first collaboration between Deepika Padukone and Hrithik Roshan.
In just over a minute, the teaser is adrenaline-fuelled as thundering fighter jets zoom across the skies.
The teaser introduces fighter pilots Patty (Hrithik Roshan), Minni (Deepika Padukone) and Rocky (Anil Kapoor) dressed in G-suits and sporting aviator sunglasses.
Although there is no dialogue, the action sequences do all the talking.
From Patty flying upside down to a huge explosion, the teaser provides a glimpse into Fighter‘s high-stakes and intense emotions.
The teaser also hints at romance between Patty and Minni, with the pair leaning in for a kiss while the latter is dressed in a skimpy swimsuit.
The closing shot of Hrithik exiting a warplane with the Indian flag unfurling behind him reminds audiences of his entrance in War.
Shah Rukh Khan praised the teaser, commenting:
“The only thing that can be more beautiful than Hrithik Roshan, Deepika Padukone, Anil Kapoor is the way Siddharth Anand presents his films.
“Looking so good all round and finally Sid has developed a sense of humour….’you must be joking’ bro! All the best to everyone. Ready for take off.”
Although many enjoyed the Fighter teaser, some identified its similarities to Tom Cruise’s classic Top Gun and its sequel Top Gun: Maverick.
One user said: “Like I said, another copied movie.
“All scenes exactly copied from Top Gun.”
Another said: “Fighter is looking like a Top Gun rip-off.”
One person pointed out the similarities in the background music.

Mocking the teaser’s CGI, one person labelled Fighter “Top Gun 144p”.
Viewers also pointed out the similar stunts, including where Patty shuts the engine and hovers over another jet.
A comment read: “Good but nowhere near Top Gun: Maverick.”
