"nobody had any idea why he had been picked."
TikToker Hareem Shah has claimed that her husband was abducted upon his arrival in Pakistan.
The couple had been in London but Bilal Shah had to return to Pakistan for work.
Hareem said her husband was “kidnapped for unknown reasons” but Bilal’s family have said the abduction was due to his wife’s social media posts.
After her court case against Sandal Khattak over the leak of her nude videos, Hareem and Bilal travelled to London in July 2023.
At the end of August 2023, Hareem said her husband returned to Karachi. Two days later, Bilal was allegedly abducted by assailants in vehicles.
Hareem said: “Bilal and I were in London and he went to Pakistan for some work. He was illegally kidnapped by some people in plain clothes.
“We made a complaint to the local police station but nobody had any idea why he had been picked. We have petitioned the court as well. Bilal has been taken away illegally.”
Calling for the authorities to investigate her husband’s disappearance, Hareem continued:
“I request the law enforcement agencies to find my husband.
“He has nothing to do with politics or any activism. He has no previous criminal record. We are worried and going through a tough time.”
A petition was filed in the Sindh High Court against the “illegal detention” of Bilal, allegedly by law enforcement agency personnel.

Hareem Shah previously became embroiled in controversy and faced a Federal Investigation Agency inquiry when she uploaded a video in which she claimed clearing immigration to travel abroad with a large amount of foreign cash without any checks.
A case was registered against her by the FIA.
In relation to Bilal Shah’s purported “kidnapping”, an FIR was registered against “unknown persons”.
In her petition, Bilal’s mother Shahzadi Begum said her son was picked up on August 27 from Qayyumabad’s street no 6.
She added that the unknown people who “kidnapped” her son also took his car with them.
Shahzadi said her daughter-in-law was a social media influencer and claimed Bilal was abducted because of Hareem’s political views on social media.
She submitted that her son has nothing to do with any illegal or criminal activities and requested the court to direct the police and other law enforcement agencies to produce the detainee and provide details of cases if any against him.
According to Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Shiraz Nazir, FIR no 533/23 has been registered.
