“Went and got the law involved.”
FBI Director Kash Patel is engaged to his country singer girlfriend, Alexis Wilkins, with the couple announcing the news on X.
Twenty-seven-year-old Wilkins shared a black-and-white photo of herself standing alongside Patel, while holding up her hand to show her engagement ring.
She captioned the post on X: “Went and got the law involved.”
Patel reposted the photo on his own social media account.
The couple met at a friend’s event in Nashville in 2022 and began dating in early 2023.
During an interview on the Megyn Kelly Show in 2025, Wilkins recalled:
“We just happened to meet.”
There have been questions over their age gap, with Kash Patel 19 years older than Alexis Wilkins. However, she dismissed them, saying:
“I have always liked [him], when I met him, I just liked that he was so, so honest.
“He’s exactly who he is all the time. His character is incredible. His values are incredible.”
When Patel became FBI Director in 2025, Wilkins attended his swearing-in ceremony.
She released her debut country album in 2023 and has also worked as a political commentator.
Wilkins has been affiliated with conservative groups and describes her work on her website as honouring “country tradition while adding relevance and current commentary.”
Wilkins has also performed at events connected to Donald Trump, including the Great American State Fair on the National Mall as part of America 250.
She was among the performers at the event after other artists withdrew when they learned it would not be a non-partisan celebration.
Since Kash Patel took charge of the FBI, the pair’s relationship has been heavily scrutinised.
Democrats on the House Judiciary Committee have criticised Patel’s private jet use after reports claimed the FBI boss used a private jet to visit his girlfriend, attend sporting events, and more.
But Patel previously stressed:
“We just pay for our personal travel, which we do, like all members of the Cabinet and other agency heads do.”
She is also suing MS Now over a December report alleging that Patel ordered her security detail to escort one of her drunk friends home after a boozy night out in Nashville.
A bureau spokesperson confirmed in November that Wilkins had a protective detail after receiving “hundreds of credible death threats related to her relationship with Director Patel, whom she has been dating for three years”.
