"Which Hindi song? When is it coming out?”
Ed Sheeran may be gearing up for more than just a musical release; fans now believe a full-blown Bollywood collaboration with Shah Rukh Khan is on the cards.
The singer-songwriter shared behind-the-scenes footage from the shoot of his latest single ‘Sapphire’, which features Arijit Singh and a surprise cameo by Shah Rukh Khan.
But it’s what he revealed in the comments that has truly ignited speculation.
A fan page posted the clip to Instagram, captioned:
“Can’t wait for the full Punjabi version. Check out the behind-the-scenes on Ed’s YouTube Channel!
“Ed said Hindi version in that video, so I’m not sure if the other version of the song will be Hindi or Punjabi now!”
Ed ended up responding. He wrote:
“The Hindi song was for a Bollywood movie SRK is doing, this is the Punjabi version of ‘Sapphire’ with Arijit. I’m just doing all languages at this point.”
That single line has sent fans into detective mode, with many asking what Hindi song Ed was referring to and whether he’ll be featured in Shah Rukh Khan’s next film.
One fan asked: “Which Hindi song? When is it coming out?”
Another wondered if the song will be in SRK’s upcoming action-thriller King:
“In King?”
Directed by Siddharth Anand, the film will feature a high-profile cast including Deepika Padukone, Rani Mukerji, Abhishek Bachchan and Anil Kapoor.
King is also said to feature Shah Rukh’s daughter Suhana Khan.
Adding weight to the theory, eagle-eyed viewers noticed Siddharth Anand in the same behind-the-scenes footage.
He appears in a recording studio with Ed, suggesting a deeper musical involvement than initially expected.

No official statement has been made by Ed Sheeran, Shah Rukh Khan, or the filmmakers about a Bollywood song or appearance, but fan speculation continues to grow.
If confirmed, this would mark Ed’s first Hindi film collaboration, and possibly his Bollywood debut.
The ‘Sapphire‘ music video has already excited fans for its fusion of cultures, with Shah Rukh Khan’s cameo and Arijit Singh’s vocals adding a distinct South Asian flavour.
His upcoming album Play, set to release on September 12, 2025, will have Indian influences.
Now, it seems Ed’s global crossover could extend even further.
Whether Ed Sheeran contributes a song or appears in King, his comment has turned rumour into a full-blown fan theory.
