"And my friend Diljit also gave this song his all."
Shah Rukh Khan’s Dunki is just a few days away and the makers have now released a new track titled ‘Banda’.
The song is performed by Diljit Dosanjh and has taken social media by storm.
‘Banda’ is an introduction to SRK’s character, Hardy, in the film.
From a lover to a patriot and from a friend to a rescuer, the multi-dimensional Hardy risks his life for his friends.
The music video begins with a voiceover from Mannu (Taapsee Pannu), saying that Hardy can help people get to London.
It turns into a rollercoaster ride, with Hardy and Mannu fighting against all odds to make their London dreams a reality.
Hardy runs a race and even crashes a wedding.
Elements of the music video have been taken from other Dunki tracks like ‘Lutt Putt Gaya and ‘O Maahi’.
‘Banda’ also provides a glimpse into what Dunki will be about and how much of a fighter Hardy is.
While Hardy dances in India, ‘Banda’ also highlights the obstacles he and his friends face once they go abroad.
‘Banda’ ends with a powerful speech from Hardy.
“No, Your Honour, I have no danger in my own country.
“Whatever it is, it’s mine. I won’t use cuss words against my country for living here.”
Shah Rukh shared the video on Instagram and thanked Diljit Dosanjh for providing his vocals.
He said: “If you ask him for love, he will give you his life. He’s the friend you’d always want.
“And my friend Diljit also gave this song his all. Thank you for making Hardy the man everyone would love.”
Listeners could not stop loving the new track.
Taking to social media, one person said:
“Hardy is here to rule.”
Another said: “What an amazing song.”
A third commented:
“Diljit Dosanjh’s voice and Shah Rukh Khan, best combination ever.”
Directed by Rajkumar Hirani, Dunki stars Shah Rukh Khan, Taapsee Pannu, Vicky Kaushal and Boman Irani.
It tells the story of five friends who are desperate to go to London and embark on an illegal trip to the English capital.

SRK previously said Dunki is a film for himself.
At a promotional event in Dubai, he said:
“So when I made Jawan, I thought I made a film for boys and girls but I didn’t make anything for myself, then I made Dunki.
“So this is my film. This film is very close to my heart.
“When I was doing Pathaan, many people who write about films, those who apparently know about films more than the filmmakers, were saying what kind of roles I was doing, so I really felt that I should do films that come from my heart and this includes all the films that I did this year.
“I started the year with Pathaan, which was always ladies first, and I want to end the year with a film for myself.
“So, please watch Dunki on December 21.
“Everyone will find something in the film that will touch their heart. The film will make you laugh also.”
The film is set to release on December 21, 2023.
