Deepika Padukone has received a nomination for her role in xXx 3: Return of Xander Cage at the Teen Choice Awards 2017. The awards ceremony, which takes place on 3rd August 2017, will see the star up against Gal Gadot for the award.
On 20th June, the Teen Choice Awards announced the list of nominees for their 2017 awards. Deepika Padukone received a nod for her role as Serena Unger, placing her in the Choice Action Actress category.
The Bollywood starlet competes with several actresses for the award, notably Gal Gadot. The actress, who stars in Wonder Woman, has enjoyed great success after the film’s recent release.
The category also includes Michelle Rodriguez from The Fate of the Furious and Kaya Scodelario from Pirates of the Caribbean: Salazar’s Revenge. Deepika’s co-stars, Nina Dobrev and Ruby Rose, also received nominations for the Choice Action Actress award.
In total, xXx 3: Return of Xander Cage has gained five nominations for the Teen Choice Awards 2017. While Deepika has been nominated, Vin Diesel also got a nod in the Choice Action Actor category.
It seems Deepika’s debut and the film itself has made a great impression in the US.

On social media, the actress has not directly made comments on the nomination.
But she has retweeted those who have congratulated her. This even included Nina Dobrev who congratulated all her fellow nominees.
This exciting news comes after the director of xXx 3: Return of Xander Cage recently confirmed the actress would return to the franchise. DJ Caruso revealed on Twitter that she would star again as Serena Unger in an ‘xXx 4’ film.
But while Deepika celebrates, surprisingly Priyanka Chopra didn’t receive any nominations for her role in Baywatch. Meanwhile, her co-star Dwayne Johnson has been nominated three times, of which one is for his role in the film.
Some will wonder why Teen Choice Awards 2017 missed Priyanka out from their nominations. But as Twitter users ultimately determine the nominees’ list by submitting in their vote for each category, it remains unknown.
Despite this, many Bollywood fans will wait in suspense for the Teen Choice Awards 2017. They will surely hope that Deepika does indeed win the Choice Action Actress award.
Set for 3rd August 2017, organisers will soon reveal more information about the anticipated event.
