Avantika must use her quick thinking to help save Ferb
Avantika received the animated treatment in the latest episode of Cartoonified! With Phineas and Ferb, as she teaches the latter how to dance.
The spin-off series serves as a reboot of Take Two with Phineas and Ferb, but instead of having the celebrities interacting with the duo in live-action, it is completely animated.
When Phineas and Ferb invent high-tech “copycat shoes”, they look for someone to help test them.
Using their “Cartoonify Machine”, the brothers put a picture of Avantika into their contraption, bringing the rising star into Danville.
Avantika’s dance skills become crucial as Ferb learns to mirror her dance moves perfectly.
But while Ferb and Avantika enjoy themselves, trouble arrives when the villainous Dr Doofenshmirtz unleashes his latest invention, the Cookie-nator, turning zoo animals into animal crackers.
Perry the Platypus steps in to stop the chaos, but a stampede of frightened animals puts everyone at risk.
Avantika’s shoes slip off during the mayhem and land on some of the stampeding animals, creating more havoc and pulling Ferb into danger.
With Phineas by her side, Avantika must use her quick thinking to help save Ferb and restore order before the chaos gets out of hand.
Avantika’s animated appearance in the short earned lots of love on social media, with many praising the South Asian representation in a mainstream cartoon.
One person wrote: “An Indian made it.”
KATSEYE’s Lara Raj was awestruck, commenting: “Stop.”
Internet personality Smrithi Dhanasekar shared a clip of the episode on her Instagram Story and wrote:
“Never thought I’d see an Indian girl with a pottu on Phineas and Ferb.
“Please, this is everything.”
Avantika’s appearance in Cartoonified! highlights Disney Channel’s efforts to connect beloved classics with fresh talent, bringing nostalgia for Phineas and Ferb fans while showcasing one of its rising young stars.
But this is not the first time she has worked with Disney, as her first lead role came in the 2021 film Spin.
The 20-year-old gained mainstream recognition in the 2024 remake of Mean Girls, playing Karen Smith.
She is now set to feature in Mindy Kaling’s new Hulu series Not Suitable For Work, which follows five work-obsessed twentysomethings striving for professional success and, if they have time, personal happiness in Manhattan’s most glamorous neighbourhood, Murray Hill.
Avantika will play Abhinaya “Abby” Chilukuri, a fashion-obsessed, savvy assistant to a demanding celebrity stylist.
