Musical maestro, A.R. Rahman is touring the UK in September 2016.
The A.R. Rahman UK Intimate Tour will see the legendary composer, musician, and singer grace London, Birmingham, Leeds and Manchester for a spectacular concert of live music.
Rahman is known for his incredible musical soundtracks for hit films like Bombay (1995), Dil Se (1998), Taal (1999), Zubeidaa (2001) and Lagaan – Once Upon A Time In India (2001).
He has also composed music for numerous Hollywood ventures, including Slumdog Millionaire (2008), Million Dollar Arm (2014), 127 Hours (2010), Pele – Birth of a Legend (2016) and The Hundred Foot Journey (2014).
His international popularity has seen him collaborate with many high profile musicians and producers, from Mick Jagger and Will.I.Am to Andrew Lloyd Webber, Shekhar Kapur and Baz Luhrmann.
What makes Rahman stand out is his incredible versatility and tendency for improvisation. This is why fans of the musician, and music fans in general appreciate seeing him live.
A.R. Rahman enjoyed a fantastic reception in America with his ‘Intimate Concert’, when he toured there in 2015.
Now he is bringing the same show to the UK. Speaking about the incredible show, Rahman says:
“After the successful 18-date ‘Intimate’ tour in the US last year, we really wanted to bring it over to the U.K. The show has all kinds of songs, some are Hindi, some Punjabi – there’s a lot of music to hear!
“‘The Intimate Tour’ is all about music, it’s all about intimacy and seeing you face to face, and I look forward to seeing you all very soon.”
The tour will kick off at London’s SSE Arena in Wembley on September 22, before heading to Birmingham. For the first time, A.R. Rahman will also tour the north of England to Leeds and Manchester.
A.R. Rahman’s 2016 UK Intimate Tour will be touring on the following dates:
- 22 September ~ London, The SSE Arena Wembley
- 24 September ~ Birmingham Barclaycard Arena
- 29 September ~ Leeds First Direct Arena
- 30 September ~ Manchester Arena
Tickets are priced between £35 and £100, and are available to buy now.
Fans also have the chance to attend special Meet & Greet events and meet the musical genius in person.
