“The character was deeply embedded in me"

Renowned actor Ahmed Ali Akbar shared his thoughts on Parizaad following the success of the drama series.

In the show, he played the titular character.

He revealed how the role had a profound impact on him and hinted at the possibility of another season.

Ahmed expressed how deeply his character had resonated with him, saying:

“The character was deeply embedded in me, and I felt the need to detach from it.”

He acknowledged the immersive nature of his year-long involvement in the project, emphasising the importance of taking time off to rejuvenate creatively.

“It was a year-long shoot, and I became part of the character, and the character became part of me.

“I needed time to shed some of Parizaad before I could interact with people again.”

Regarding a potential sequel, tentatively titled Parizaad 2, Ahmed disclosed that he first learned about it through writer Hashim Nadeem’s Instagram post.

While acknowledging the challenges of revisiting a complex character like Parizaad, he expressed curiosity about exploring his character’s journey further.

“I saw Hashim Nadeem’s Instagram post, and that’s how I found out about the possibility of a sequel.

“It’ll be tough to go back into it, but I’m curious to know what Parizaad’s life would be like now.”

Ahmed’s rise to fame began with notable performances in popular dramas like Guzarish and Yeh Raha Dil.

However, it was his portrayal of Parizaad that propelled him to new heights of acclaim.

Despite his success, Ahmed Ali Akbar has been selective in his projects, with appearances in dramas like Idiot and the feature film Gunjal.

When asked about his project selection process, Ahmed revealed:

“My priority is the story and the soul of the film. I look at the whole picture, the whole script. If it feels right, I don’t mind taking a risk.

Gunjal had everything I look for in a project, and that’s why I decided to be a part of it.”

His fans were very excited about this revelation.

A user expressed: “Parizaad 2?! I still can not get over the first one! This is amazing.”

Another added: “I want the sequel so bad but I never thought they would actually make it. I simply can not wait.”

However, one said: “NO! They will ruin the story by dragging it. That’s what Pakistani dramas do.”

Another commented: “It can never be as good as the first one, but it will still be fun to watch.”
