Akhil Mishra has sadly passed away after he suffered a fall at home.

His publicist said the 3 Idiots star, who suffered from high blood pressure, passed away after he fell from a chair in the kitchen.

A statement read: “He was on a chair in the kitchen trying to do something when he fell and hurt his head and back.

“He was later rushed to hospital by family and neighbours.

“He was still incoherent whilst going to the hospital, and then the internal haemorrhage started. Despite the doctor’s best efforts he could not be saved.”

According to reports, Akhil’s wife, Suzanne was not at home when the tragedy occurred.

She was reportedly in Hyderabad for work but quickly returned when she heard about the incident.

In a statement, Suzanne said:

“He was hospitalised last month for high blood pressure.

“He was feeling better over the last few days and was taking proper medication too. He was doing physiotherapy and things seemed fine.”

Suzanne went on to say that when he was feeling better, Akhil offered to help with chores around the house and offered to do the laundry whilst she was out of the house.

She also revealed that a family friend came to the house to spend time with Akhil but he had to leave as he had to go to the bank.

Suzanne added: “So after our family friend left, Akhil was alone at home.

“Maybe he tried to hand the clothes near our kitchen area by climbing on a stool and he may have slipped and fallen.

“But we don’t know what happened. When our family friend came back home he found him on the floor.”

Heartbroken Suzanne said that whilst he was being taken to the hospital, Akhil said he loved his wife and that he did not want to go to the hospital.

Speaking about her late husband, Suzanne called him her soulmate.

“Akhil was my soulmate and my better half. He was everything to me, from being my guru to being like a protective father figure.

“I don’t know what I will do without him. I feel very lost.”

Manoj Bajpayee conveyed his condolences and expressed shock at the unexpected news.

“Rest in Peace Akhil Mishra Ji! This is unbelievably shocking! May God bless your soul with peace and tranquillity. Om Shanti.”

Akhil Mishra was best known for his role as librarian Dubey in 3 Idiots, starring Aamir Khan, R Madhavan and Sharman Joshi.

He was known for his line “Dubey Librarian, permanent hoon sir” [I am permanent sir] in the film, after he is questioned by Boman Irani’s Dr Viru ‘Virus’ Sahastrabuddhe.
