"From Kedarnath to Cannes."

The prestigious Cannes Film Festival has seen Bollywood’s top actresses grace the red carpet.

The event may be known for films but it also provides an opportunity for stars to showcase their glitzy outfits.

For 2023, the event is being held from May 16 to May 27.

In the past, the likes of Deepika Padukone, Sonam Kapoor and Aishwarya Rai have gone the extra mile to make a lasting impression while representing India at the festival.

While some stars are regular attendees, others will make their anticipated debut.

One Bollywood actress that is set to grace the Cannes red carpet for the first time is Anushka Sharma.

She will be accompanying the Loreal Paris contingent alongside Hollywood star Kate Winslet, who is surprisingly making her Cannes debut also.

Emmanuel Lenain, the French Ambassador to India, confirmed that Anushka will be attending and tweeted:

“A pleasure meeting @imVkohli and @AnushkaSharma! I wished Virat and #TeamIndia all the best for the upcoming tournaments, and discussed Anushka’s trip to #CannesFilmFestival.”

Another debutant is Sara Ali Khan, who was spotted at the airport preparing to leave for the festival.

Wearing a leather jacket, jeans and stilettos, she announced to the paparazzi:

“From Kedarnath to Cannes.”

Spotted at the same airport was Manushi Chhillar, who will also attend the Cannes Film Festival for the first time.

Her attendance is another win for Manushi, who was recently unveiled as an Estée Lauder ambassador.

Manushi’s appearance at Cannes will only grow her international profile even more.

On the work front, she has been working on her new film titled Tehran, which also stars John Abraham.

Speaking about the film, Manushi said:

“I have started the second schedule of my film Tehran with John Abraham.

“It is hugely validating that I’m being offered roles that allow me to explore different characters.

Tehran is a project that I’m extremely excited about as it not only gives me a chance to present myself in a new avatar but will also allow me to learn and grow as an actor, given my role in the film.”
