James May will be returning to Amazon Prime Video with Our Man in India, the latest in his travel series.
The trailer has excited fans, with many saying they cannot wait to watch it.
In it, the former Top Gear presenter takes a walk on a quiet beach and exclaims:
“Oh that’s better, it’s nice to get away from the chaos of life.”
The clip then cuts to packed Holi celebrations and James, who is covered in colourful powder, says:
“Welcome to Holi.”
Throughout the series, viewers will see James travelling the country from coast to coast, embracing the creative, historic, culinary and cultural aspects of India.
The trailer features James May marvelling at breathtaking destinations.
Starting in Mumbai, he journeys north through Udaipur.
Covering more than 3,000 miles, James goes on to visit Delhi, Agra and Jaipur.
Visiting the Taj Mahal, he says:
“This is absolutely breathtaking.”
His journey continues eastward along the Ganges to the holy city of Varanasi.
James’ travels also take him to Kolkata and the Himalayan foothills around Darjeeling before concluding his adventure in the natural wonders of the Sundarbans.
Throughout his journey, much like his previous outings to Italy and Japan, the presenter star provides a unique and entertaining perspective on the rich tapestry of India’s landscapes, traditions and festivities.
James immerses himself in the country’s culture.
He tries his hand at pottery but fails.
James also tries to make an authentic Indian dish but it goes horribly wrong when he attempts to take it out of the oven and drops it, prompting the crew to put their head in their hands.
As he goes shopping, James visits a market to buy some fresh produce.
Taking into account the heat, he says:
“Let’s shop till we drop, which in this temperature will be after about three minutes.”
He tries an Indian head massage but it proves too intense for him and his hair is left in disarray.
The chaotic traffic and sudden downpours have got fans counting down the days, with one tweeting:
“This looks brilliant! James May really has found his calling away from cars.
“The genuine excitement at experiencing new things really is inspiring. Cannot wait for this.”
Another said: “I’ll watch James May do anything and travel anywhere. Can’t wait!”
