"I gave everything I had on that stage."
Veena Praveenar Singh made a striking style statement while attending an event in Thailand, blending pageantry and poise with traditional South Asian elegance.
She wore a gold and orange-toned silk saree featuring sequin work, scalloped borders, and an intricately embroidered patti design that shimmered under evening lights.
The six yards were draped traditionally, with the pallu pleated neatly on her shoulder, creating a refined silhouette rooted in classic saree styling.
Veena paired the look with a gold silk blouse featuring heavy embroidery, a sleeveless cut, a deep U neckline, a cropped hem, and a fitted bodice.
Her beauty look complemented the ensemble, with slicked-back hair styled in a half-up, half-down finish that highlighted her facial features.
Jewellery choices elevated the outfit further, including a mang tika, jhumkis, a statement choker necklace, and coordinating bangles.
Her glam was completed with a bold red lip, winged eyeliner, shimmering gold eye shadow, mascara-coated lashes, feathered brows, and softly contoured cheeks.
A dewy base, glowing highlighter, and subtle rouge added radiance, rounding off a polished look befitting an international beauty queen.
The appearance followed major news from the Miss Universe 2025 finale, held in Nonthaburi, where Praveenar Singh finished as first runner-up.
The result marked a significant moment for the Thai-Indian contestant, who has competed for years to secure her place on the global stage.
Known widely by her Thai nickname, Veena, the 29-year-old has long embraced her dual heritage with visible confidence.
Born in Chiang Mai on April 16, 1996, she has frequently spoken about the pride she takes in her multicultural identity.
Her pageantry journey was gradual and determined, beginning with Miss Universe Thailand 2018, where she finished as second runner-up.
Veena continued pushing forward, placing first runner-up in 2020 and returning as second runner-up again in 2023.
Her persistence paid off in August 2025, when she won Miss Universe Thailand, representing Saraburi among 76 contestants.
The victory carried added symbolism as Miss Universe 2005 Natalie Glebova crowned her on stage.
Beyond pageantry, Veena holds a degree in liberal studies from Thammasat University, reflecting ambitions outside the beauty competition world.
She has spoken about Thailand as a “melting pot of traditions” and aims to promote tourism and cultural diplomacy through her international platform.
Veena also stands out as one of the few pageant winners to be married and divorced, openly challenging traditional expectations within the industry.
As Miss Universe Thailand 2025, she represented her country at the Miss Universe pageant, competing against more than 100 contestants.
Mexico’s Fátima Bosch won the 74th Miss Universe crown, while Denmark’s Victoria Kjær Theilvig passed on the title during the grand finale.
Following her first runner-up finish, Praveenar Singh shared an emotional statement on Instagram reflecting on her journey.
“I gave everything I had on that stage, carrying the pride and honour of representing Thailand to the fullest,” she wrote.
“Today, I’m truly grateful to bring home the title of 1st Runner-Up for everyone in Thailand.”
“Even though I didn’t take home the crown I hoped for, I poured my heart and soul into every step of this journey.”
“From here on, I will continue to fulfil the responsibilities that come with this honourable title, especially in creating meaningful impact.”
She added that inspiring others through her project, SHERO, remains a cause she deeply believes in.
“I would also like to congratulate the new Miss Universe 2025, as well as all the incredible women in the Top 5.”
“I admire each and every one of them, and the strength, grace, and power they brought to this stage.”
“Thank you, truly, from the bottom of my heart.”
