Varun Dhawan transforms into ‘The Rock’ in Viral Video

Bollywood actor Varun Dhawan took to social media to share a video of himself transformed into Dwayne Johnson, otherwise known as The Rock.

Actor Varun Dhawan indulged in wrestling fantasy on social media as he transformed into Hollywood actor Dwayne Johnson.

More specifically, Varun channelled the Baywatch actor’s alter ego as The Rock, what he was best known as during his days as a professional wrestler.

It is no secret that Varun has admiration for the Hollywood blockbuster star and he has publicly expressed it.

But now Varun took to social media to share a video of The Rock with his face edited onto it.

The video was made by a Bollywood fan page. Varun shared the video which shows his face morphed onto The Rock’s body in a montage of clips from his wrestling days.

Varun captioned the video: “If you smell…….. (theme kicks in) and I wake up.”

The video went viral and has amassed more than 1.1 million views. Many of his followers gave their reactions, stating how funny they found the clip and how realistic the edit looked.

Varun has publicly shown his appreciation for Dwayne Johnson in the past.

In 2019, Varun took to social media to praise Dwayne’s film Hobbs & Shaw following its release. He wrote:

“Watched Hobbs & Shaw. It’s great fun in the cinema. The Rock really brings it.

“Loved the homage paid to the Samoan culture. The London chase sequence has to be the best.”

He responded to him saying: “You’re the best.”

The action star has also spoken highly about Varun and how much he is a fan. Dwayne even hinted at starring in a Bollywood film.

He previously said of Varun:

“He is such a big fan. I’ve interacted with him before on social media. And I know, he is a big star in India.

“Yeah, so maybe one day, you never know, you could see me in a Bollywood action movie.”

“That’d be a lot of fun because I know that we have a lot of wonderful fans in India, and we have talked about that. So, maybe one day (you could see me in a Bollywood movie).”

On the work front, Varun Dhawan will next star in the 2020 film Coolie No. 1 which is a remake of the 1995 film of the same name.

The film is directed by his father David Dhawan and also stars Sara Ali Khan.

It has been reported that the film will release digitally instead of in theatres due to the Coronavirus pandemic.

Coolie No. 1 also stars Paresh Rawal, Shikha Talsania, Javed Jaffrey, Rajpal Yadav, Sahil Vaid, and Johnny Lever in important roles.
