A family found dead inside their $2 million San Francisco home were a husband, wife and their twin sons.
The couple were identified as Anand Sujith Henry and Alice Priyanka Benziger, who bought the £2.1 million home in affluent San Mateo in 2020.
Their four year old sons Noah and Neithan were found inside one of its five bedrooms on a sofa.
The couple were found with gunshot wounds next to a pistol and a loaded magazine in the bathroom.
San Mateo police are treating the case as a murder-suicide.
A police statement read: “We are confident the person responsible was located within the home.”
Originally from Kerala, the couple moved to the United States nine years ago.
Henry was a former Software Engineering Manager at Meta and Google.
It was revealed that he filed for divorce in 2016, years before his wife gave birth.
Reportedly, the divorce never materialised. After leaving his job at Meta in June 2023, Henry founded his own AI company.
His firm, Logits, provides enterprises with the means to “privately train and serve Generative AI models” to serve their own specific business needs.
Henry worked at Meta for a year and a half after nearly eight years at Google.
During that time, the family lived in at least four apartments across San Francisco before relocating to the San Mateo home.
Currently, police do not have a motive but believe the killings were committed by someone who lived at the property.
Police discovered the bodies after receiving an unspecified call from someone concerned about the family’s wellbeing.
The San Mateo Police Department said:
“Based on the information we have at this time, this appears to be an isolated incident with no danger to the public as we are confident the person responsible was located within the home.
“This investigation continues as detectives work to gather evidence, speak to witnesses and family members, and determine a possible motive.”
Sources told KTVU Henry fatally shot his wife in a bathtub before shooting himself.
The couple were both alumni of TKM Engineering College and also both attended Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh.
After that, Alice obtained a Master’s in data science at the University of San Francisco.
She then held positions at Dictionary.com, Idibon, and Change.org, before assuming her senior role at Zillow six years ago.
The investigation remains ongoing.
