this shift in booking habits is not surprising.
British families planning all-inclusive holidays this summer are being hit with sharp price hikes, according to new data from TravelSupermarket.
Figures show that the top five most-searched destinations, Spain, Greece, Turkey, the UAE, and Portugal, have all seen a rise in the cost of seven-night family holidays.
The most dramatic increase has been in trips to the United Arab Emirates. Prices jumped 26% year-on-year, from £1,210 in August 2024 to £1,525 in August 2025.
Spain, a long-standing favourite among UK holidaymakers, also saw prices climb, with the average cost per person up from £835 to £914.
Greece saw a similar rise, with prices going from £926 to £1,038 per person.
In Turkey, the average cost increased from £874 to £1,003, while Portugal has also crept up.
The data, collected between April 18 and June 17, 2025, is based on online searches for all-inclusive family holidays in August 2025 compared to the same period in 2024.
Families Cutting Trips Short to Save

The rising costs are now forcing families to rethink their travel plans. Many are choosing shorter holidays or altering their travel dates to save money.
Travel consultant Luke Fitzpatrick said: “Last year we did a lot for 10 nights and this year we’ve got a lot of people dropping to four or seven nights, just a short little weekend vacation, just getting away in the sun.”
Industry experts say this shift in booking habits is not surprising.
Julia Lo Bue-Said, chief executive of the Advantage Travel Partnership, attributed the price increases to wider industry challenges.
She said: “These increases simply keep pace with the broader cost of doing business and reflect the reality of higher operational costs, from increased energy bills affecting hotels, to elevated food costs impacting restaurants and rising wages across the hospitality sector.”
Despite the higher costs, many consumers are still willing to spend on holidays, and even upgrade.
She added: “We are seeing that some holidaymakers are still willing to put money towards a trip and even splash out on extra perks.”
This includes premium all-inclusive options and more expensive flight seats, especially for long-haul destinations like Dubai.
Cyprus Sees Big Jump but Some Prices Fall

Cyprus, ninth in TravelSupermarket’s top 10 list, has seen one of the biggest increases in average cost.
A one-week break in August 2025 now costs around £1,166 per person, up 23% from £950 in 2024.
However, not every destination has seen costs rise.
Italy and Tunisia, also in the top 10, have actually dropped in price compared to 2024, by 11% and four per cent respectively.
Gen Z Also Turning to All-Inclusive Deals

While families remain the main market for all-inclusive getaways, the appeal is broadening.
Recent research by holiday company On the Beach found that younger travellers are also embracing this type of trip.
The study recorded a four per cent year-on-year increase in bookings from Generation Z.
This age group now makes up 55% of the company’s all-inclusive holiday sales.
Rising costs are reshaping how British families approach their summer breaks.
Many are choosing shorter, more cost-conscious getaways, while others are still splurging on luxury options.
With economic pressures influencing the cost of travel, all-inclusive holidays may no longer be the budget-friendly option they once were.
