"the audience will discover her in different ways."
Bangladeshi television actress Tasnia Farin is set to make her film debut, with her first film set to release on December 2, 2022.
She will star in the Tollywood film Aro Ek Prithibi, which is directed by Atanu Ghosh.
Atanu was inspired after reading the book Four Feet Under: Thirty untold stories of homelessness in London by Tamsen Courtenay.
The book features accounts from people living on the streets of London.
This includes a builder, a soldier, a transgender woman, a child and an elderly couple.
Speaking about the film, Atanu said:
“A few days ago, I read a book titled Four Feet Under: Thirty untold stories of homelessness in London. From there the thought of this film came out.
“In this film, we will try to showcase London in a completely different way.
“It is very different from the way London has been shown on the screen for so long.”
Aro Ek Prithibi centres on four very different people, each with their own stories but all have never had a home to call their own. The film will tell the story of finding that home.
Tasnia Farin’s character, Protikkha, is set on a journey of finding relief and shelter in the midst of her fight with life.
Kaushik Ganguly, Shaheb Bhattacharya and Anindita Basu will also star in the film.
Speaking about her character, Tasnia said:
“She has been on the quest for her own place since she was 11 years old, and that journey has led her to London.
“Through this journey, the audience will discover her in different ways.
“When she reaches London, she finds the connection between the incidents of her past and present. It’s a story of realisation, finding your roots and home.”
Praising Atanu and the rest of the cast, Tasnia added:
“I am very satisfied with my first film. They are very cooperative like Bangladeshi people.”
“That’s why I didn’t feel even for once that I am working as an outsider. As a director, Atanu is very straightforward. I liked working with him.”
Aro Ek Prithibi releases on December 2, 2022.
