Tangia Zaman Methila has once again claimed the national spotlight after being crowned Miss Universe Bangladesh 2025.

The glittering ceremony took place in Aloki Green House in Tejgaon, Dhaka, in front of a cheering audience.

Methila will represent the country at the 74th Miss Universe International competition, scheduled to be held in Thailand in November 2025.

The announcement was met with loud applause, with organisers highlighting the importance of the global pageant beyond the glitz and glamour.

Speaking at the event, Mustafa Rafiqul Islam Duke, National Director of Miss Universe Bangladesh, described the platform as transformative and empowering.

He explained that Miss Universe serves as a celebration of intelligence, confidence, and purpose, encouraging women to showcase resilience on the world stage.

Duke emphasised that the competition is not just about beauty but about creating opportunities for women to represent their voices internationally.

Methila is already a familiar face in the industry, having worked as a model and actress while championing causes close to her heart.

She has long been an outspoken advocate against child marriage and has worked actively to support underprivileged children across Bangladesh.

Her journey in pageantry also carries a unique twist, as she previously won the national crown in 2020 but faced disappointment then.

Due to Covid-19 restrictions at the time, she was unable to compete at the international level, a setback she has now triumphantly overcome.

With her win in 2025, Methila became the first woman in the country to win the crown after missing her chance once before.

In an emotional victory speech, she paid tribute to her mother, saying her achievements were inseparable from her mother’s sacrifices and encouragement.

She added that everything she has managed to accomplish in her career, including this moment, was deeply tied to her mother’s support.

“Whatever I am today is because of my mother. She has always been my strength and inspiration.”

“This achievement belongs to both of us.”
