Abhishek Bachchan has been at the centre of headlines in recent months.
The actor and his wife, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, were once touted as one of Bollywood’s most iconic couples.
However, rumours of their separation have continued to spread.
Recent allegations stated that Abhishek was cheating on Aishwarya with Nimrat Kaur.
Amid all this speculation, the veteran actress and talk show host Simi Garewal appeared to show support for Abhishek.
In a now-deleted Instagram post, Simi shared a clip from Abhishek Bachchan’s interview on Rendezvous With Simi Garewal.
Abhishek appeared on the show in a solo appearance in 2003.
In the video clip, Abhishek shared his thoughts about loyalty and commitment in romantic relationships.
He said: “Call me old-fashioned, but I have nothing against being frivolous.
“I have nothing against people wanting to have fun with both of the constants. Then, by all means, enjoy yourselves.
“But if you have committed to somebody on whatever level, then abide by that commitment, otherwise, don’t make it.
“I personally feel that as a man, if you commit to a woman, even if you get caught up with her boyfriend, you should be loyal to her.
“Men are usually accused of being very disloyal – I have never been able to understand that, and I don’t agree with it. It disgusts me.”
Simi captioned the post: “I think everyone who knows Abhishek personally will agree he is among the nicest men in Bollywood.
“Good values and innate decency.”
However, some users slammed Simi for her apparent support for Abhishek Bachchan.
One person wrote: “You are trying to protect Abhishek? What about Aishwarya? Isn’t she a nice woman?
“The Bachchan family just ruined her. Just look a her – her whole face is filled with sadness and desperation.”
In October 2024, Nimrat Kaur addressed the speculation of her alleged relationship with Abhishek.
She said: “I could do anything, and people would still say what they want.
“There’s no stopping such gossip, and I prefer focusing on my work.”
The rumours of a rift between Abhishek and Aishwarya have been strengthened by numerous incidents.
These include Amitabh Bachchan unfollowing her on Instagram and her being pictured separately from the Bachchan family at public events.
Notably, nobody from the Bachchan family wished her on social media on her 51st birthday in November 2024.
Meanwhile, on the work front, Abhishek Bachchan is currently gearing up for the release of I Want To Talk.
It is scheduled to be released on November 22, 2024.
Simi Garewal has appeared in classics including Teen Devian (1965), Mera Naam Joker (1970), and Namak Haraam (1973).
Her popular talk show, Rendezvous With Simi Garewal, ran from the late 1990s to the mid-2000s.
